"I think Thon hotels has the best breakfast. I am a vegetarian and there are so many healthy options. We also enjoyed the room; It was clean, spacious and the beds were comfortable. The front desk service was also stellar. Just note: if you have a car, you might look for parking in the street during off hours as it will be less costly. But even more worthy of note, the garage is quite small and so it is best to have a small vehicle to manage in and out. But that is a small price to pay compared to the overall experience. I should also note that the hotel is centrally located, thought it is difficult to not be since Alesund is walkable regardless of where one might stay in the "sentrum" area. "

The concierge helped us get round trip tix on the daily Hurtigruten/Havila fjord cruise (part of their Norwegian coastal journey has them come into Alesund in the AM and then go down the fjord and back to Alesund that evening).
