Wavestation is ideally situated 45 kilometers south of Hobart over looking the water towards Bruny Island.
It is very central to many wonderful places in Southern Tasmania. You can visit Hobart for the day, possibly on a Saturday to the Salamanca market, catch the car ferry to Bruny Island at Kettering which is 10 minutes away, cross the neck to see magnificent Adventure Bay and the lighthouse and come home to relax in complete privacy. This is like your own home, plenty of space to explore the garden and the woods adjacent.
Study the birdlife and relax on the protected verandah watching the boats sail by. Walk along the quiet beach road. The secluded location ensures a great escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Plenty of outside space including a gazebo to enjoy an afternoon drink and evening barbecue.
Discover Southern Tasmania, the waterways, orchards and magnificent vistas from the hills behind. Visit nearby Peppermint Bay Hotel to enjoy music, food and local life. Art Farm Birchs Bay restaurant is nearby. The Middleton general store is well stocked and a five minute walk away.
Drive to Cockle Creek the southernmost tip of Australia.
Enjoy boutique cheeseries and local produce. Take the road from Woodbridge to Cygnet and have lunch at the Red Velvet lounge.There is boatbuilding at Franklin and the walkway in the trees in the Tarkine Valley.
Two bedrooms: One with Kingsize bed and the other with twin beds which can be converted to a queensize bed. Please indicate when you book
The kingsize bedroom with quality linen. This sleigh bed has outstanding comfort to enjoy a peaceful night. The bedroom has plenty of space and a couch to read in quiet contemplation. The twin bedroom has its own entry for early morning walks.
The kitchen and living areas
The kitchen is well appointed and close to the warm fireplace in the spacious living areas furnished with comfortable couches to enjoy reading, conversation, watching television or generally enjoying the view. Stroll onto the veranda for your evening cocktails and enjoy the boats passing by. On cold winter days the Tasmanian wood heater heats this room to make it cosy.
There is plenty of firewood in the shed. Usually there is a supply on the side veranda. Please replace this when it is used. For convenience there is an airconditioner providing heating and cooling near the dining area.
