Millfield Cottage is a stunning, cosy and quaint holiday home located in the village of Chop Gate in the North York Moors National Park. Situated within a short distance of the prestigious market towns of Stokesley and Helmsley, Millfield Cottage is ideally situated for you to experience both a relaxing getaway, or a busy day out and about in North Yorkshire. Sleeping four guests, the cottage provides a memorable getaway for couples, small families, and groups of friends.
The Space:
Millfield Cottage has an open plan living and dining area. With a comfortable leather sofa and flat screen TV, the living space is the ideal spot to unwind after a day exploring the North York Moors National Park.
Fully equipped, the kitchen has everything you could need to prepare meals during your stay including modern appliances and cookware such as an oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer.
Head to the master bedroom and you’ll find a delightful space. Featuring a comfortable queen bed with premium bed linens, every care has been taken to ensure your night’s sleep at Millfield Cottage. Pops of colour are added through the soft furnishings and wall art.
The second bedroom is a cosy twin bedroom that is perfectly suited to children and teenagers, or perhaps your friends who have joined you for your peaceful retreat.
A third bedroom is also available at Millfield Cottage. Perfectly suited to be a playroom for your little ones, or simply just a bedroom, the space boasts a small single bed.
The modern family bathroom is where you’ll find a bathtub with overhead shower, WC and wash basin.
Head outside and you’re surrounded by stunning scenery. You’ll have direct access to the beautiful garden and you’ll find outdoor seating so you can enjoy the fresh North Yorkshire air or perhaps some alfresco dining.
Host & Stay are committed to our owners that their homes are protected during guest bookings. For this reason, we require all our guests to transfer a Damage Deposit (refundable, subject to an administration charge) or, to purchase an Accidental Damage Waiver which will cover you for up to £500.00 of accidental damage during your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to Millfield Cottage are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is free on site parking at Millfield Cottage.
The bathroom in Millfield Cottage is on the right hand side of the upstairs. All the bedrooms are on the left hand side. Please note that entry is via the double bedroom to reach the other two bedrooms.
The Neighborhood:
Millfield Cottage provides the ideal getaway for lovers of the great outdoors as there are numerous walking and cycling routes close by.
Immerse yourself in the dramatic North Yorkshire landscape, take a leisurely stroll along one of the various routes nearby, or head further afield for an off-road cycling adventure and explore the North Yorks Moors National Park.
Roughly a 40 minute drive away is Dalby Forest which offers a varying level of walking and cycling routes. You’ll also find ‘Go Ape’ here where you can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
The pretty town of Stokesley is well known for its Friday food, flower and craft markets, and farmers' markets on the first Saturday of each month. Stokesley Agricultural Show is held every year on the third Saturday in September, attracting visitors from all over the country. With everything from dog shows to handicrafts and delicious local delicacies on offer, it's well worth a visit.
Getting Around:
Millfield Cottage is within an hours’ minutes’ drive time of Stokesley, Helmsley, York, Whitby, Scarborough and Middlesbrough.
If you’re travelling via bus, the M4 Moors Bus bus calls in Chop Gate. Operating in the summer months only, you’ll be able to visit Saltburn, Redcar, Great Ayton, Stokesley and Helmsley.
The nearest railway station can be found seven miles away in Battersby with routes to Whitby, Middlesbrough and Newcastle.
