"This was a one night stay en route to west Wales from Essex. The hotel is high up on a hill, giving beautiful views over the valley. Our room in The Coach House (CH2) was large, quiet and extremely comfortable. One word of advice, do not open the radiator thermostat too much otherwise, if you get up during the night, you will find the room is really warm! Breakfast is served in the main house, with continental & Full Welsh cooked breakfast available. All the food we had was excellent."

"I booked this hotel at very short notice, due to visiting the area as a surprise to see my daughter. On arrival the whole building was spotless, and after a short wait, I was greeted by the proprietor. The gentleman was extremely professional, happy, polite and gave the warmest of welcomes to his establishment. He promptly booked me in and escorted me to my room. The room itself was immaculately kept and clean, it was also more spacious than what I expected and was tastefully decorated. I was informed that after 21:00 in the evening, access to the property would be via a dedicated security, key card door at the rear of the property, to avoid going through the bar/restaurant area. I was so impressed with my stay, I shall be using this venue for future trips to see my daughter. "

"Brilliant stay, the staff and the owner were great very homey and warm atmosphere. Very kindly made me an early breakfast each day as I had to be up for a training course. Rooms were clean tidy and brilliantly sound proofed as I heard nothing from the bar downstairs. Great little place would highly recommend."

"We stayed for one night overnight at the hotel and can honestly say it was just basic. The condition of the room was not great, as we soon discovered the lightning did not work properly and the kettle in the room was dysfunctional (reported) The bathroom was clearly in need of renovation as the flooring which was used to cover the sides of the bathtub was peeling away. The window blinds had portions missing and the curtains were hanging off. We also noted a strong draught from the window but could not see where it was coming from as it was a double glazed unit. The breakfast was basic, it was all self service and they had run out of certain basic items such as coffee and I had to report the bread they were serving was actually mouldy. The staff were polite but overworked, as the young man on reception on the following morning was also the cook for breakfast! On the evening of arrival I had to report the key card was not working and had to wait for almost 10 minutes for staff to appear back at reception and witnessed a man shouting at someone from an office area in the back of the reception. Not what I’d call great professional behaviour 🙄"

"I stayed here for two nights (Saturday and Sunday) while visiting Bike Park Wales, and I was really impressed with the value for money. Booking just a week in advance, I only paid £55 for a two-person room with breakfast included—an absolute bargain! The room was clean and comfortable, though I did struggle a bit with temperature control. The window didn’t close fully, and while the radiator had adjustable heat, it wasn’t entirely clear when it was actually on or off throughout the day. That said, it wasn’t a dealbreaker. Breakfast was great—not anything particularly special, but definitely more than just the bare minimum for a continental breakfast, which was a nice touch. The shower was powerful and clean, though the mounts were a bit loose and wobbly. The location is a little out of the way, so if you don’t have a car, it might not be the most convenient. However, for the price, cleanliness, and overall experience, I’d absolutely stay here again. Perfect for a budget-friendly stay near Bike Park Wales!"
