Loved the old feel of Florida here ... The onevI knew and grew up with before over development ... This was a great respite and in a short distance to the city if you choose ... Will visit again!
We will stay here again. Cute Florida cottage! Reminds me of my grandmothers house with wood floors and glass doorknobs. Beds were comfortable. location off main road, easy to get to. Close enough to Gainesville for grocery shopping.
I so enjoyed our stay here. A peaceful slice of old Florida that just invites you to come back. The cottage is beautiful and

The cottage was clean, and the hosts were easy to contact and very friendly. The setting was quiet and peaceful, exactly what we were looking for. I definitely recommend for a peaceful stay in the country!
Great location to see area sites without the congestion!
This is a cute and comfortable little cottage away from city congestion with a couple restaurans nearby.
It is a great location for Gainesville area site seeing and visiting with your college kids.
As soon as I walked in, I started crying.
I felt I was home. I went by myself and never felt afraid...enjoyed Cross Creek and McCinopy...

What better place to read a biography of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, than on this front porch? We loved the song birds and walking in the cemetery. The property was so close to downtown Micanopy, Payne's Prairie and Gainesville, that day trips were easy and relaxed. We had everything we needed and the house was clean and well tended. We hope to return.
it is a great little cottage and a quiet neighborhood where you can actually see nature and not too far from really good restaurants. The cottage had all amenities needed for relaxed and wonderful trip. I have stayed at the owners other colleges, and they does a great job with communication.

Quiet country living, in easy driving distance to everything Gainesvillle.
Watch TV in the front room or use the peaceful back room to catch up on work, reading, or laundry. Watch the sunlight move through the trees and Spanish moss. Walk down a country lane. Visit the Cemetary across the way. Listen to the birds.
We loved this peaceful place. If the beds had beeen a little bit firmer, it would have been perfect.
BIG problem with mold and mildew, Primary but not the only culprit is the leather sofa and double chair in the living room. But, the odor permeates the whole house. If you have a respiratory condition, do not stay here. We would not return.
We had a great experience at this 1930's cottage! We were in the area for the FSU vs UF game. It was a straight shot down 441 to the stadium. We also ate at "The Depot" that was located [practically] across the street. The property manager was awesome and responded quickly as well as gave us a little extra time in the am to check out. I highly recommend this property.
To start with, this location was perfect for us. Our daughter was graduating from UF and we wanted something close enough to easily get to Gainesville, but not so close we were constantly part of the madhouse with graduation. The cottage was tastefully decorated and had plenty of spaces to relax in. Kitchen had most common things needed to cook and anything not available was only a text message away from being delivered by the host. Both the air conditioning and heating worked great as the days had a wide variation in temperatures. Guests should be aware that only one of the rooms has a closet. This wasn't a big deal for us, as we didn't have alot of hang-up clothes. I positively LOVE the little chimes the washer plays when it's finished a cycle. It sounds so proud of itself!!!The cottage is off a dirt road and therefore right next to a cemetery. This was wonderful as I love to wander the old headstones and see the stories they tell...for instance:the father and son who died on the same day,the children who lived only a day or two because infant mortality was so high, the many veterans recognized, the wife who I think was an avid birder. However, the most intriguing and saddest to me was the inscription on a very old stone, of a young boy of about 12. I could only partially get a rubbing of the inscription, but it started with "All alone you died...". Maybe a future visitor can find out the rest. Please don't let the presence of the cemetery stop you from staying.
