We selected this hotel based on great Expedia reviews and were later amazed how far the reviews were from the reality, on the negative side. First of all, you cannot come to the hotel by car. They do not tell you that anywhere in the descriptions before you book, but a day before your arrival, the hotel start sending you notices of impossibility to park near the hotel and the need to eat breakfast in another hotel. When you come, you have to drop the car at a valet stand on another street and then hand-carry all your luggage through multiple back gates to another street where the Penguin is. When you need the car again, you have to first call a phone number they give you, then walk all the way back to the other hotel, and then wait 15-20 minutes for your car. For this they charge you $45 plus tax. Second of all, the hotel is old, the rooms and bathrooms are extremely small and in desperate need of repair. They are also very short of place to put things on, like shelves or stands, including in bathrooms. Also, there are no USB charging ports anywhere in the room, you have to have your wall outlet plug to be able to charge your phone. It felt like we were back to early 2000s. Overall, very poor value for money. Third, the street this hotel is on does not feel safe at all, and we were lucky that we only needed a short overnight stay and had no need to walk outside at night. On the positive side, the hotel is very clean for the condition it is in, they do a good job there.

Eight of us stayed for 1 night prior to going on a cruise. The property was cute, clean, and convenient. I would book again. The beach is literally steps away. Food in the area is very expensive so be prepared for that!
