Hotels.com rating of 8.4 is deceptive
The 8.4 rating in Hotels.com is completely deceptive -- it tricked us. This is an old hotel, with a friendly and very helpful staff -- a staff worthy of an excellent hotel. But the room was small, dark and stale, the bed was lumpy, the sheets didn't reach the bottom edges of the mattress, there was a disassembled bidet in the bathroom and a hole in the wall where once there was a pipe. There was no purified water bottle in the room, we had to buy it from the restaurant downstairs. In short, the rating should be maybe 6 or 6.5, which would give guests a better idea of what to expect.

Very,very old. Staff mostly unwelcoming
No thanks,never again. Rude and uneducated staff member (the v“old bell-boy)the young guy at the reception was friendly,wifi not working unless it’s 2 am, unbelievable noise from Chapultepec avenue, sewer smell in the room, no air conditioning and in spite of being a four star (haha!) hotel not one bottle of water in the room. Only one outlet in the whole room. Glad I canceled the rest of my 7 day stay (tip: just book your first night, then do 1 night increments which are refundable,so you can get out when you don’t like it, and unless you’re straight out of a cave you surely won’t like this ‘hotel’. Yikes,how bad can hotels get in Mexico City… Ah, the elevator is never coming… No thanks. Never again.
