The rooms were okay, we were mainly there to sleep and shower. The hotel is undergoing modernization, so there is a lot of work being done on it. My room in particular, the shower door did not aling to close completely, the toilet bowl leaked and the phone in the room did not work. Cleaning staff was friedly and willing to make my stay comfortable. The front desk staff, mainly the head supervisor were not too friedly or accomodating at the begining.

The hotel was great. Just make sure you dont leave anything valuable in your luggage. My mom's wallet was stolen from her luggage, we approached the manager, but he did not do anything. I asked my mom to leave her wallet with her documents in the hotel because it would be safer than carrying them around, well I was wrong. Unfortunately I did not have time to go to the police

Conveniently located cheap hotel

Room has aTV that has no cable signal. Telephone in the room is usless, must of the time front desk does not answer your calls. Several lights were out. Staff was very nice. Parking lot was a plus in this City.

Decent location, but not the greatest hotel..

TV didn't work.... For 3 days that I stayed, the a/c didn't work properly, they charge for breakfast and the rooms where dirty Specially the showers

Poor customer service and room maintenance.

I do not like to write bad feeback, i want to takefew ministes yet in this case. First, i arrived to the hotel at 3pm for check in. I was told tonhave a seat, after 20minutes i had to ask the staff about my reaervation. It was everything done manually and they did not follow a line or were organized any how. I got my room, then i had to call for maintenance since the bathroom was not working properly. The tv was not getting good signal. I did not care much for the tv, yet i reported it. I was told that someone will fix the issues. I left and came back at night. I just found that nothing was done. I could not use the batroom and watch tv. I was really surprise for a Howard johnson property. I checked out and mentioned to the staff next day. They were not really friendly, and i got again the same comment. We will fix that for you. Shame on them since i was leaving the property.

Great value in the heart of Mexico City

Fantastic location near the Alameda for a terrific price. Newly renovated. Only downside was terrible internet access and no English TV. Also, chair in room was plastic and not comfortable. The room was very nice and the hotel was great. Only $47/night.

Decent hotel

One of the elevators doesn't work, takes forever to come down. The bed is big, but they don't give you a comforter just sheets. The AC unit in our room didn't work and our phone didn't work. The hotel staff is not very helpful, don't expect much from there. The location was good, a block and half from metro and close to restaurants and bars. You get what you pay for here. If you won't spend a lot of time in your hotel room go for it, but if you want to be comfortable try something different.

Overall experience was fair. We were there for 6 days. The shower had hair from the previous guest, I had to ask staff to clean again. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable and the staff were very courteous and helpful.

Nice in the photo, not so much in person.

First impression. As I got out of the taxi, in front of the hotel, a hotel bell staff saw me struggling with my luggage, he looked at me and walked a way. I had to say loudly, hey come and help me (ayudame por favor). The room was on the street side, which was very loud all night long. I asked for a different room and they could not accommodate a change in room, so the noise of the night club down the street, the honking of the cars and the loud noise of the world came into my room. The stairwell did not have lights, I did not have a remote for my TV and my phone did not work. I went down to tell them of these issue, but no one ever came to resolve them. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for some rest. One positive note is that the young lady and man at the desk were very helpful with finding me a local tour and telling me what was within walking distance.

The hotel is in an excelent location; nevertheless, the Service was not to our expectativas. The towels were in Rags, no soap nor shampoo, the tv control was not working properly and the reception personal didn't answer the phone. Many times I had to Go to the lobby to ask for Room Service. The bathroom facilitéis aré ill designed and the shower door does not clóset properly All the floor got wet. Only one Elevator was working and we had to wait too long.

Great location! Can't beat the price.

The hotel had a bellhop that took my bags upstairs. There was a concierge desk that helped me plan tours and gave directions. The only problem was the smells from the city's old sewer system. Also, there was some sort of after hours club that opened across the street that was very noisy.

Great location close to downtown

The hotel has been renovated. The hotel phone service is very old and there is only one phone line; so many calls do not come through if the many phone line is busy. Also, only one elevator was working.

Good central location

Less than 24 hours in Mexico (just passing through), I walked out at 10:30 p.m. and ate dinner at Sanborns. Breakfast on their terrace overlooking Alameda Park. Incredible Russian cultural exhibit in Bellas Artes, world class. The location of HoJo is perfect. They are in the process of remodeling (paint smell), but it works for me. My 3rd stay in 15 months. Their prices are reasonable.

excellent location

We arrived after midnight. Non of staff speak English. They could connect to Expedia website to confirm our reservation, but they let us in anyway. The night staff couldn't program our magnetic key, so they opened out room with master magnetic key. We were on 70th floor. Windows in the hallway are frosted, so you can't see the weather, or may be the view is not appealing. Room nice and clean like on the website pictures. Windows faced inner courtyard, so it was quiet. No problem with hot water. Towel was only one (bath towel) per person. Bottled water was given only on the third day. Breakfast cost 90 pesos, very basic, not worth the money. At the front desk only one girl speak English, the rest not even basic English, ZERO. So she was our lifeline. Our magnetic key was demagnetized somewhere in the museums security screenings. So we have to reprogram it couple of times. At the hotel there are two guys with a car to take you to the airport, they speak some English!!! The fare is 250 pesos per car, usual fare by taxi is $20 per car. Internet connection is available in the room, ask the front desk for a password.TV's remote control batteries were dead.

Best locacion, best customer service !

Best hotel !! Was near to everything !!! I just walk one block to Alamaeda central, Palacio de Bellas artes and Torre latinoamericana. My fly was at 6am. they take me on time to the airport.

A confy spot in the heart of Mexico City

Great.We really liked it.Very comfortable room. The only thing was that our new reservation didn't show,but the cancelled one did.We had to pay again for our room.Receptionit did not search for it.Saying that without a confirmation # nothing could be done.We where tired from a long bus trip,so I just paid for room.The next receptionist found our reservation and cancelled the payment I had made earlier.All good.
