Amazing on-the-ground Contact, Mediocre House, Terrible Management Company
First and foremost, our on-the-ground contact Hever was the best part of this booking. He was kind, helpful, accommodating, and professional. We loved working with him and would happily do so again. However, the house itself left a lot to be desired. It's in a still-being-built townhouse complex and there was construction noise throughout the day, even on weekends. The design of the house is nice but no effort has been made to provide quality furnishings. The beds are uncomfortable, the sheets are like paper, and the couch is small and cheap. The wifi was strong enough (usually) for one person to work remotely, but rarely two. The kitchen supplies were also really low-quality. We had hoped to spend some time at the actual beach but to get there without a car you have to walk 15 minutes down a BUSY road, alongside dilapidated and abandoned homes. We went once and weren't impressed. Worst of all, the management company (Vacasa) was absolutely terrible to work with. Before the trip, we tried add one day at the end of our stay. However, they quoted us 3x the amount that was listed on the website -- which equated to more than 10% of the total stay (which was three weeks). They told us it was because of "dynamic pricing" and they couldn't help us at all -- despite the fact that we checked the website multiple times a day and it always showed us the same low price. We spoke to half a dozen Vacasa helpdesk people and they all tried to gaslight us. Will never stay in Vacasa again.
