Casa del Balam is our “go to” hotel in Merida because of its perfect location near the outstanding Plaza Grande with all its restaurants, shops and cultural events. We love the historic charm of the hotel, its pool area and its restaurant.

This is a charming colonial hotel located in Centro/St Lucia. We also stayed here in 2023. The staff was responsive when we communicated via WhatsApp both before and during our stay. After 3 days of great pressure and hot water, there was no hot water for a day, but these things happen in old historic buildings. Bathroom updates are needed and housekeeping could be a bit more thorough, but we like the place for a few nights’ stay. Recommended.

The priming room was amazing with the balcony. The room was just as posted. The staff were very courteous. The restaurant in/attached to the hotel served excellent food and the staff in both spoke English. The cleaning staff was very thorough. The grounds were well kept.
