Wonderful house good location had a great time here
The only thing was a bit ruff was my elderly parents getting up and down steps. Other wise the house was great.

Relaxing in woods and water
We really enjoyed staying here. The woods and being so close to the ocean was exacting what we wanted. It was the perfect distance from Mendicino and Ft Bragg. Although we weren’t able to use the hot tub because of an unforeseen breakdown of it, we appreciated the quick response to the problem. We hope one day we will be able to come back. This place is a delight.🌺

Quiet Retreat
Property is located uphill of Hwy 1, just high enough to clear the ocean fog in Mendocino town. The front deck faces West/Southwest; sunny and bright. Easy few minutes into town, with Mendoza's market happy to provide whatever you might need; including a butcher counter. While we vowed to eat out all of the nights we were there, the property kitchen is the best equipped of any property we've stayed.

I could see myself living here
Our stay was great! Beautiful interior and sparkly clean. Hot-tubbing under the stars each night in a hot tub nicely tuned to 100 degrees. Sitting on the big patio deck gazing into the forest. Hiking in Russian Gulch State Park. Grilling on the Weber and eating outside with the bistro lights on. Watching a movie on the large television. Cooking in the well-appointed kitchen. Sleeping on the nice Nectar mattress. It was a five-star stay. That’s probably all you need to know, so you can stop here if you don’t want a couple of quirky personal things I noticed. The keypad to get into the house was made for people with a higher IQ than mine. I never did get it right. Luckily, my dear wife had the brains and the knack for getting it to open. She often says that she has strange electricity in her fingertips because electronics don’t always work for her the way they work for everyone else. I think she found her resonant frequency with this keypad. Even if she thought she got the long code wrong, it opened. Even when I thought I got the long code right, it remained locked. May your experience be like my wife’s. And I had trouble getting the shower water calibrated to the right heat. It is a little claustrophobic in the stall with a cold plastic inner liner, so I found myself dancing around a bit to get the water to the right temperature (it was slow to respond to adjustments) and avoid touching the plastic liner. Maybe better to calibrate from outside the shower.

Totally loved this place!
Hiker's Delight is everything it said it would be. Its back gate leads directly into Russian Gulch State Park with well maintained trials through the redwoods and ferns that access the beach/cliffs as well as an inland waterfall. The property is well maintained, well stocked, easy to use, comfortable, quite, and clean. It is very close to Mendocino so groceries and other venues were nearby. You barely see any of the neighboring structures and the detached dwelling was empty when we were there. We had fast and comprehensive support from the VACASA management company, although a personal touch like a "Things to Do" folder and a warning/advisory about local road closures/repairs would have been nice. We would definitely stay here again.

Family Vacation
We had an amazing family vacation with young kids (5 & 7) in June 2023. We used this property as our home base to explore the North Coast. We mostly stayed in the area (Mendocino, Fort Bragg). The house was amazing! Quiet neighborhood and quiet (close) neighbor w/ sweet dog (studio apt). Our kids loved the backyard. We loved spending a few minutes in the hot tub each evening as a family. Kitchen & outdoor grill served us well. We used the access to the hiking trail to enjoy a fun family hike. We really enjoyed Russian Gulch SP, the Skunk Train, the hike behind the house, Glass Beach, and especially Jug Handle Beach. All close by. Awesome family vacation!

Pros: Lovely house in quiet neighborhood with hiking and beautiful surroundings. Beautiful room to hang out in, nice kitchen, beds were comfy, fireplace lent ambiance Cons: Vacasa is a difficult property management company to deal with. They are all automated, won't let you remove your credit card from their system once you pay, and are not responsive in a timely manner. We couldn't locate the heat controls (turns out the wall heaters have been disabled and the stove doesn't quite heat up the large room) and no response via text or phone until the following day. In fact, they have not posted my review stating this. I will avoid vacasa managed properties in future, but this sure was a lovely house!

Redwood Forest in the Backyard
The location is awesome as it is nestled in a super quiet neighborhood and has a redwood forest in the backyard. It is super clean and feels like home. The listing states there's a private hot tub, though a long-term studio rental on the property has a diffused view of the tub and shower area. I'd have preferred a solid fence between the two places. The backyard is adjacent to amazing redwoods and offers an easy walk down the trail to beautiful coastal coves and bluffs.

Beautiful house - Terrible communication
This is a gorgeous house in a lovely location. Unfortunately, our arrival was pretty much a disaster. We arrived a day late due to a medical emergency but when I attempted to communicate with Vacasa, couldn't reach anyone via text, email or phone. When we got to the house the next day, we couldn't get in because the code I had wasn't correct. There was no cell service so had to drive into Mendocino to a cafe to get cell service. Finally reached a most helpful service rep., Cecy, who gave us the correct codes. Unfortunately, the Schlage device and lockbox procedure were the most complicated that I've ever had to deal with but we finally got in. It would've been helpful had there been a binder with instructions on how to operate the various devices in the house and a garbage can apart from the recycle. The house was beautiful, the experience not. I don't blame the owners, but Vacasa needs to improve their management.

Beautiful home.
Beautiful home with open floor plan that was perfect for almost 3 toddler. House had quality decor and furniture similar to a luxury hotel. With to die for beds and bedding. Backyard backed up to trails but still enclosed so little one could play safely. Found the kitchen comfortable with nice pots and pans. The half bath is located next to laundry room on opposite side of house from the 2 bedrooms. Complimentary soaps etc. Walkable neighborhood with ocean views. Would stay again.

Hiker’s Delights did not disappoint
This place felt like home away from home. It had all the amenities we needed during our stay with our toddler. There’s books and games in the laundry room, two toilets, and the hot tub was amazing. We took advantage of the trail system behind the house. The kitchen was very well stocked, we even hosted a dinner party with some local friends. I hope if we come back to this area that the house would be available again, it was easily one of our most positive rental experience all around! And we have rented all over the world!

Wonderful Mendocino Oasis
The photos don’t do this rental justice. It’s pristinely clean, cozy, private and the beds and linens were incredibly comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, lovely yard and hot tub and a gate with hiking trails right out the back yard. I have a 2 year old and this property is PERFECT for families. It was child safe and so easy! What I didn’t like was communicating with a robot. We really wanted late checkout and needed a few things while there and it was impersonal and a bummer to be texting with a bot and not getting genuine customer service for what we paid to rent the home.

Great find near Mendo
Booked thru vrbo, but property owned by 2nd party VACASA. I was a little concerned, but every little detail was perfect. There was actually a "live" host I was communicating with, although not sure where they were physically.. bit rest assured, no problems with that. The house was amazing! Very light and beautiful neighborhood. Very well appointed with kitchen items, and toiletries. Beds were super comfy. Hot tub smelled a little "funky", but was hot. Everything was pretty perfect
