Nostalgic 1920's cottage, sitting on 0.5 acres with mod cons directly across the road from the beach - 100 metres from the Somers General Store.

Please Note: New 2 bedroom and bathroom extension added late 2023.

There are now 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, outside, laundry, toilet and shower.

Located 100 metres from the Somers General, the location is perfect for getaways over summer and winter week-long holidays. Open fire for the cold winter periods and perfect for the hot summer days - a great porch to relax and chat with friends and family after a long day at the beach. Perfect location for the beach and to check out the local restaurants and wineries. (we don't accept bookings from 21yo and younger - no parties) Families, couples and groups of friends more than welcome. NBN Wifi

Great stay, close to the beach and shop
The house was great for a weekend getaway with the kids. Big back yard and nice cosy house. Would be good for both summer and winter breaks.

Wonderful retro beach shack in a great location!
We had a lovely couple of nights at Somers beach house. It's in the best spot, directly across from the beach. Our 5yo son enjoyed exploring the rock pools at low tide. The house is clean, comfortable with a very well stocked kitchen. 2nd toilet was very handy with a group of us. Will be back again for sure!

.Advertised as having 5 queen beds suitable for 7 adults. Not true. Small single bunk beds. No door
Dissatisfied with bedrooms. Had to source other sleeping arrangements to accommodate 6 adults. One bedroom was a sleep out without a door. One bedroom advertised as 3 queen beds but had 1 small bunk and 1 small single. Misleading and very disappointed.

A++ Location, Beautiful Property, Cute House
Large beautiful trees surround this cottage style house which has a plenty of different areas to relax in, including a lovely large verandah complete with lounging daybed. Excellent location across the road from beautiful beach with lots of rock pools. 4 doors down from great Somers cafe. Will go again.

A Charming Retro Beach House
We were delighted with the property. Great location, comfy beds and a charming interior that harks back to the old Somers beach house that my Dad (80+) recalls. Also lots of options to gather inside / outside, sun / shade, sheltered / breezy.

BOOK IT! DONT HESITATE! :)
My 15 year old daughter, her 3 girlfriends and I booked the Somers Shack for a 3-day get-away from Melbourne. The place was absolutely perfect and I cant rave about it enough! The listing/reviews were spot on! Rob responded to my 3 separate questions extremely quickly, thanks Rob. I'll try and focus on other things that mightn't be in the other reviews. The kitchen has everything you could ever want, the stovetop and oven work beautifully (electric). The property is on a corner block and has a huge front & backyard. There are 3 houses between the Shack and the General Store - perfect location - so the girls could walk up on their own and have lunch or grab a snack. The beach entrance is right across the road from the General Store which is amazing! Rob says in busy times its best to use the entrance about 60m to the right (as you come out of the house turn right). If you want to try your luck seeing the dolphins try 7-730am right near the 'Somers pontoon' - we saw at least 5! The split system heater worked great, we all thought the beds were comfortable, and we absolutely loved the decor and ambience especially the lounge and dining area - fantastic! It's cosy, inviting, full of character...and I'd book it again in a second (and I'm very fussy)!! :) Thanks again Rob, very special place!

Great to come back and experience this location in the winter and enjoy an open fire each evening. A great spell of weather provided opportunities for some great walks.

Great 1920s cottage in terrific location a few doors away from the Somers General Store Cafe and across from the beach reserve. Very clean and well equipped house.

Robert, our host, was extremely helpful and generous with his time and advice. His property was the perfect beach get away for us and had the added bonus of being opposite the foreshore. We really can't wait to go back . We had a wonderful time there.

This place is great. A beautiful old beach house with rustic charm and all modern amenities. The beach is just over the road, which is a real bonus.
