The hotel is located in a prime location. It is within the free tram zone but we did not use it as nearby attractions in the city were all walkable from the hotel. The room was very nicely designed, and staff were prompt to make up our room. The lounge is disappointing though, as the quantity served was clearly not enough for the guests who were present on the day we went.

What a lovely hotel in the heart of the cbd area! We had a Next King room which was very spacious, the bed was firm and comfortable and the bathroom had a large shower, all nice and clean! Our booking included breakfast, we had a good selection to choose from and all very tasty. The hotel has a restaurant but there are so many lovely restaurants to go to nearby we were spoilt for choice. The staff were polite and friendly and we had a very enjoyable stay at Next Melbourne!

First impressions are a real indicator of your stay. Unfortunately the welcome was lacking and it was a sign of what was to come. The room itself was clean, lovely shower and linen. There were multiple decorative pillows but none for actual sleeping. The breakfast the following morning was a mixture of incompetence and miscommunication. There were constant reorders as the kitchen kept discovering they didn’t have the menu items that were promised. It took one hour for the food to arrive, it was so severely overcooked that it was inedible. Upon communicating our issues with staff we were informed ‘the chef is busy’ but there were literally five people in the restaurant. It was enough to cement my desire to seek other accom next time.
