The Kings Domain at the House of Windsor is one of two self-contacted townhouses.
Melbourne is continually voted the most liveable city in the world, and Windsor is the diamond in her crown. From dining to shopping and nightlife, Windsor has it all.
Nestled in a quiet and peaceful street, but only a 2-minute stroll to the famous Chapel Street. Within walking distance to trams and trains and The Avenue Hospital.
THE SPACE
The Kings Domain at the House of Windsor is one of two self-contacted townhouses.
Why book just another apartment in a big block with no views when, for the same price, you can stay at The House of Windsor?
The King's Domain, the entire ground floor apartment, represents open plan living at its most stylish and luxurious and sleeps 5. This townhouse is fitted to the highest standard of appointments and luxury fittings, ideally suited to extended bookings, including hotel quality, starched and laundered bed linen.
I also have a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor that sleeps 4, which you can view by visiting my profile attached to this listing. Both apartments are fitted out to the same exceptionally high standard.
At about 100 SQ/M, the space is about 75% larger than other apartments in multi-unit developments and nearly four times the size of a standard hotel room, yet well under half the price.
The townhouse features extra high ceilings and open planned living, dining and entertaining spaces with custom steel-framed doors that can open onto a fabulous front courtyard.
The gourmet kitchen, designed for entertaining, comes complete with an induction cooktop, an entire oven, and a a butler's pantry. There is also a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer, and dryer, all of which are full-size.
The townhouse features reverse-cycle air-conditioning and an excellent gas fire.
Unlike other listings that are often not much bigger than studio apartments in large blocks of hundreds of units, this is your own space in a low-rise neighbourhood of local homes, not tourists or student accommodation.
This is an ample open plan space with two bedrooms with one queen in each and another single sofa bed.
The bathroom has two toilets and hand basins. Both are separated by 4/5 metres from each other. There is a massive rainhead shower between the two bathrooms. The show has floor-to-fully frosted ceiling glass. It is designed so that someone can use the battery and leave one side, while someone else can use the bathroom on the other side or enter the rain when vacant. You must wait until the other side is free if total privacy is required.
The house is in a residential street with surrounding permanent tenants, so we only rent to mature guests who will remain respectful to our neighbours. The house will be used for relaxation-style holidaying; loud parties are prohibited.
GUEST ACCESS
You will have access to the entire unit with a private entrance.
BEDROOM CONFIGURATION
Bedroom 1: Queen bed (2 guests)
Bedroom 2: Queen bed (2 guests)
Please note Bedroom 2 has a single sofa bed for a child only.
GUEST INTERACTION
Should you have any questions, we're fully contactable before, during, and after your sta. Besides, we will respect your privacy and leave you to enjoy yourselves!
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Limited parking is available down a dead-end street, but finding a pare isn't usually a problem. We will supply you with one parking permit for the home.
GETTING AROUND
The Sky Bus runs every 10 minutes to/from the airport to Spencer St. $18 O/W $35 RT. The trip takes 20 minutes outside pea. You can then catch a train or tram to the House of Windsor. Google Maps and the PTV app are great tools for navigating Melbourne's public transport.
Sky Bus also runs a service from the airport to/from St Kilda. This is the same price point and a better/cheaper option. However, it only runs every 30 minutes between 6:30 am - and 7:00 pm. I'd suggest installing the Uber app to get an Uber to the House of Windsor. It would only take a few minutes from the Sky Bus stop in St Kilda.
Myki – public transport card is used on all trains, trams, and buses. The CBD is a free travel zone, and Windsor is in the area. A 2-hour pass costs $4.10, and a full day is $8.2. Myki cards can be purchased at many convenience stores; 7/11 stores seem the most common and most accessible to remember; the closest one is on the corner of Chapel and High Street. Myki cards can't be purchased onboard.
The best tram route is number 6 Glen Iris line, getting off one stop past Chapel St. If you aren't rushed for the time, the number 6 tram is an excellent option as it takes you past loads of Melbourne's best landmarks, Bourke St Mall, Flinders St Station, the Yarra River, Fed Square, the Arts Centre, the Shrine Royal Domain. Just catch a tram first along Bourke St and transfer to number 6 at the stop after the Bourke St Mall.
The closest train stations are Windsor and Prahran, which are equal distances, and it is the Sandringham line.
Taxis and ride-share to/from the airport are about $50-$75 or higher depending on traffic. Thirty minutes off-peak, but can take approximately 45 minutes in peak traffic.
ADDITIONAL RULES
Strictly no schoolies, parties or events. Mature guests only. The property is patrolled by security. If neighbours complain or the police are called, this could affect your bond, and we reserve to treserve the evicted guests.
Bookings can only be confirmed once the verification process has been completed.
Please read and accept our terms and conditions. Council Short Stay Accommodation Code of Conduct rules apply.
INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
Access details will be available for you to enter directly at the home. Therefore, unfortunately, we do not get a chance to meet, but this provides a simple and convenient way for you to enter and depart the home quickly. We can be contacted via the booking platform anytime during your stay, and we will send you our office number if you need us urgently. We want to ensure your visit is enjoyable. Thank you.
We don't like rules ourselves. However, this is a multimillion-dollar apartment, and sadly, we have only one bad incident that involved people using drugs on the property, so we hope you understand our caution.
One/ ABSOLUTELY no parties or events.
Any breach will forfeit the security bond in full. The police will be called, and you will be asked to leave.
Two/ Without prior approval, only registered guests can be on the property anytime.
3/ No smoking inside. No smoking on the rooftop terrace.
At no time must any noise emanate or be able to be heard outside of your apartment. We live near our neighbours, and if we get one complaint from them or guests staying in the other apartment, you will be asked to cease the noise. Failure to do so will see forfeiture of the entire security bond, and police will be called.
Pet Policy - Pet friendly, but strict conditions apply – Dog owners please be aware that the apartment is only suitable for one small dog.
You must request permission before you book and the cost of any damage or additional cleaning will be recovered. If your dog sheds there will be an automatic additional cleaning charge. Our preference is for one small dog, but others may be considered on request.
Your booking may be cancelled if you have a dog and do not seek permission prior.
If your dog barks and we get a complaint from neighbours, you will be asked to leave and your booking cancelled. We hate to be so strict, we are dog owner ourselves but we have had too many instances of damage being caused and neighbours lodging complaints with the council.
By proceeding with your booking you agree to these conditions.
