We loved the property. Every property has issues. There was a lot of wind so the pool was constantly dirty and full of sand, screws popped up on the deck so had to watch where you stepped. Overall it was amazing. The disturbing part for me came after the stay. The property manager contacted me 3-4 times during the stay to make sure everything was ok, however after we left, she waited 11 days to inform me that there was a little hole in some stained glass by the stairs. We didnt even know the stained glass was there but she assured me that they noticed it “immediately” when they cleaned. The part I struggle with is why then did she wait 11 days to contact me and then say “You could also send us a check for the damage. That would make it easier for us to get reimbursed, rather than from VRBO” We didn’t get any pictures of the area the glass was in, just a small picture of stained glass that could have been from anywhere. I don’t even remember stained glass being in the house. Not to say it wasn’t, it just all sounds very questionable. I have no problem paying $150 for something that was damaged, I just have a problem with the appearance of impropriety and this appears very questionable. We go somewhere as a group every year and have never had damage anywhere we’ve gone. If we did it, I’ll pay for it, but do things the right way, contact me as soon as you hear about it (not 11 days later) and go through the proper procedure, don’t just ask me to cut you a check.
