Come enjoy our gorgeous dock on the Toogoodoo River! Sun yourself on our floating dock or enjoy the cool breezes under the covered portion. Recently renovated home with can’t miss sunset views and coastal theme. 3 bedrooms with a king, queen and triple bunk bed. Note: we are located about 30-45 minutes from downtown Charleston, SC. Near the beautiful sites, but far enough to offer peace and quiet. Not far from Edisto Beach and Kiawah Island. Middleton and Magnolia Plantations are within a 30 minute drive. Sleeps up to 8 with triple bunk and futon. Very quiet and peaceful and a perfect place to see a spectacular sunset!

Relaxing weekend
The home was very clean and in a quiet area. The dock was very nice and we enjoyed both fishing and relaxing by the water. We would highly recommend this property and hope to return again.

We had a lovely time at the beautiful, well appointed home! We loved all the homey and local art and finishes in the home. Kitchen had everything you could want and beds were comfortable. Quiet Comfortable Stay
Beautiful and comfortable home; enjoyed morning visit from neighbor's chickens; quiet neighborhood; view from dock is absolutely the best, but did find the boardwalk to be a little risky due to no rails and the same for the dock; overall a great house with excellent kitchen supplies and linens available.

Quiet getaway
The house was cozy and comfortable. The fishing was shark catching, stingrays, and eels. I would not swim in that water. The dock was relaxing to watch all God's beauty with nature's picturesque views.

Great place!
The house and dock were exactly what we were looking for. We are always on the hunt for a nice house with an awesome dock for our 2 boats and we found it. Situated between Charleston and Edisto, it’s perfect for an easy boat trip to either location. We look forward to being back!

Quiet place on the river
Clean, well taken care of house on the river with a wonderful dock. Very quiet and nice. Would highly recommend. The property owner was very diligent in responses and taking care of any questions we had.

Quiet riverfront getaway
The home was very clean and nicely furnished, great for relaxing when not outside.The yard and dock were beautiful, as was the view of the river. It is rather remote, so there are few places to eat nearby and grocery stores are a bit costly and have limited hours. Thankfully, Charleston is not far, offering many options for eating, shopping and sightseeing.

Riverfront Getaway
This is our second time at this property and will not be the last! The house is beautiful and comfortable, even nicer than the pictures. The kitchen had everything we need to prepare our meals. The dock is well-maintained and convenient for kayaking on the peaceful river. Sydney is a wonderful hostess, and she responded quickly to all my questions prior to our stay. Highly recommend this house and location, which is only a 45-minute drive to beautiful downtown Charleston.

Great family get-a-away
We LOVED the property and what it had to offer. We were about 25 minutes into Charleston, easily a day/afternoon trip. At the house, our kids (22, 20, 11 and 9) enjoyed the paddleboard and kayak options. We spent lots of time at the dock catching crabs, and lounging in the river. We did go to the Community Pool one afternoon and enjoyed our time there, it was clean and new, we would definitely recommend. Overall, a great relaxing few days before our beach vacation.

Beautiful Property with Gorgeous Creek Sunsets
This home has all the amenities you need; including a deck, screened porch, and large yard. There have been many updates recently, and the property is very clean inside and out. The dock on Toogoodoo River is just as impressive as the fantastic water sunsets. Perfect for outdoor activities. We will be coming back this summer!

Perfect Fall Getaway
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cozy house on the Toogoodoo River. The scenery was beautiful and serene. We took our kayaks and couldn't believe that we were the only ones kayaking down the river on a beautiful Fall morning. The house had all the comforts of home, and the location was perfect. We enjoyed watching the sunset while sitting on the dock behind the house. Sydney was very helpful and answered all my questions thoroughly and promptly. Would love to stay there again!

Sibling and Mother Trip
Wow, just absolutely beautiful! We wanted a relaxing weekend and it was just that. Stunning setting, gorgeous weather, and such a lovely home made a memorable weekend. Love the location, just tucked away enough but still able to get to Charleston and beaches with about 30 min drive. Can’t thank the host enough for making checkin simple and providing little things in the home. “ take some, leave some”. Hope to return soon!

Perfect Creek House
This was our second stay here and we love this home. The house is comfortable and well stocked, it's in a quiet, secluded neighborhood. But the best part of all is the dock and creek. We saw lovely sunsets every night, dolphins swam right by the dock, and it was a great place to kayak. We spent time in Edisto, went to Caw Caw Interpretive Center, and visited Charleston. We wanted to go to Botany Bay, but in the fall several of the local WMA's are closed for hunting, so be sure to check their schedules if you want to go. I highly recommend Botany Bay, and it's a short drive from this house. We will definitely be back again!

Spring Break with the family
We had an amazing vacation here. Everything we needed and more was there for us. Very clean. Super comfortable. Outside space was great for our 3 boys. We fished every day. It's about 10 minutes from grocery store, and other amenities. But we wanted to be away from the hustle. We stocked up with food, and ate out when we went on our adventures. Charleston, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, family in Beaufort. A little more of a drive, but we don't mind driving. I would absolutely recommend this place. Sydney is a wonderful host!

Hidden gem!
We are actually locals and decided to take a stay-cation close to home. This was a wonderful property. The home was stocked with several different games that the kids really enjoyed. The interior was absolutely lovely and we had plenty of space. The kitchen had just about everything a person might need (and you will NEED the kitchen-- there is really not much around this area). I absolutely loved the kitchen island that ran the length of the kitchen. The open floorplan was great for our family. They even had paddleboards and a kayak which we were able to use a few times. The property was beautiful.

Quiet - Safe - Beautiful
We’ve always picked a crowded place near the big city to stay when traveling. Yet, when I came across the Meggett property on VRBO, I wondered what it would be like to pick a country paradise for different reasons. These days I think more about being safe, secure, cleanliness and quiet, when we travel. Nestled next to the picturesque Tookoodoo River, that’s what we found at the Meggett Property. The property manager answered our every question in timely fashion and we had a great 4 night get away for our celebration of 48 years being married and my wife’s 65th birthday. This vacation was enhanced by the discovery of this great place to stay. Thank you Sydney. 😇

I have been viewing this property for nearly 2 years and finally decided to book it once our family was vaccinated. To say I was excited to stay there is an understatement of biblical proportions! From the moment we walked through the door, every one of my expectations were exceeded. The dock was amazing. The location was exceptional. Communication with the owner was top-notch. There was very little boat traffic on the river. All the neighbors were quiet and respectful. Wildlife watching from our kayaks on a daily basis was on par with a Discovery Channel special. Even the weather cooperated throughout our stay. I cannot wait to stay here again!

We will be back! Excellent stay.
We have rented houses through VRBO for a long time and this is one of the best experiences we have had. We love the house, it is spacious and very comfy. The beds and linens are nice and towels are fluffy. We love that the house and the property is all one level. We needed to have a no stairs for our parents to stay. The dock is the most sturdy dock and walkway I have been on. The long walkway to the dock having no railings was a little intimidating but we got used to it. My husband was able to catch crabs and shrimp right from the dock. Fishing got better towards the end of the week. The tides made for a different view each time we went to the dock. Having the sink and fan and benches on the dock was wonderful. We think we have found our forever home to renting.

Good amenities, recently remolded
The owner was always prompt when I called or texted her, there is a kayak and 3 paddle boards to use on the river, newly built dock, floats to use, beautiful views, all kinds of games for the kids except game table in pictures not there. Make sure to check the storage on both sides of the island as we didn’t realize the side away from the sink was storage also until the day before we left. There are only two things that we were not happy with: lots of fire ant hills in the yard that we felt should have been sprayed and saw a few roaches and when I let the owner know, she didn’t seem concerned about. Overall, we had a good time.
