Lake Michigan Beachfront Cottage - Huge Deck & Low Bluff, 60' of Private Beach

This beautiful Lake Michigan beachfront cottage has been recently remodeled and is ready for you and your group to enjoy time together on the shores of Lake Michigan. The home has 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, 2 fully equipped kitchens and 2 living room areas and dining spaces. The upper level has expansive 16 foot sliders and transom windows, creating a wall of windows to enjoy the sights and sounds, especially sunsets over Lake Michigan. New flooring, kitchen updates including a dishwasher, granite countertops and a brand new A/C system have also been added.

There are 2 levels in this home that have their own separate entrances, providing a unique ability to have privacy if vacationing with multiple families. Each level of the home has 2 bedrooms with queen-sized beds, a full bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, a living room with a sofa bed, and a dining table/chairs. The levels are connected by an exterior stairway.

The upper dining room table will comfortably seat 8 people, plus there are 3 bar stools at the counter and 2 additional folding chairs. The open concept living space allows everyo
ne to be together, whether cooking, playing games or just hanging out.

All bath towels, kitchen towels, bed linens and pillows are provided. Beach towels are not provided.

Hand soap and bar soap is provided for each bathroom. Dishwasher soap, liquid dish soap and hand soap is provided for each kitchen. 2 paper towel rolls and trash bags per kitchen and 2 toilet paper rolls per bathroom are provided to get you started.

There is a washer/dryer on the lower level, just bring your own laundry soap.

When you step out onto the spacious deck, you'll hear the waves and see the gorgeous panoramic views of Lake Michigan. Relax in the comfortable deck furniture or take a short stroll down the boardwalk towards the lake. Swing in the large wooden swing or enjoy a cup of coffee in the 2-seater Adirondack chairs/table which both overlook the water and beach below.

We have a low bluff (only 13 steps) for easy access to our 60 feet of private beach frontage! Directly next door to the north, is Golden Township Park, a public access beach. Silver Lake drains into Lake Michigan by way of Silver Creek which is part of the township park. The water from the creek is often warmer than Lake Michigan creating a popular place for the kids to play! Little Sable Lighthouse is visible from our beach and just a short walk to the south, or you can walk to the north, cross over the creek and have miles of Silver Lake State Park's pristine beach to enjoy.

If you're looking for something to do in the water, we have a 2 individual kayaks, a tandem kayak, 2 SUPs, and a canoe available for your use. We have several life jackets in youth to adult sizes.

There are 4 chaise lounge chairs for relaxing in the sun, and many beach chairs to sit down by the water. We have ladder golf, corn hole, and spike ball as well as lots of sand toys for the kids. Games and puzzles are inside when you're ready to take a break from the sun.

When it's meal time, there's a 6 burner gas grill with 2 side burners to accommodate large groups. Enjoy your meals around the large counter-height table on the deck with (6) swivel cushioned chairs. A picnic table is located outside the lower level for additional surface area for meals or playing games.

Enjoy a fire in the fire pit or sit around the cozy fire table on the deck. Either way, be sure to check out the stars at night! Oh, and did we mention the sunsets? They're incredible, and you'll have a front row seat for each one!

The outdoor space was larger than anticipated and the beach even easier to access than expected - very few steps, gorgeous views, and a unique spot right by the river emptying into Lake MI. The house was very clean and had great beach / backyard games and accessories. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a Lake Mi beach getaway!

Family summer getaway
We loved everything about our trip to the cottage!! The view of Lake Michigan was absolutely perfect and our kids spent the whole time playing in the sand and water. The property was so close to the silver lake dunes and steps away from the creek. The cottage was cozy and clean with everything we needed to have a perfect summer getaway. We spent our evenings sitting on the swing watching the sunset. It was perfect! Can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at this property was Great!! Everything as advertised. Great communication. House was exceptionally clean, well stocked, great location., beach and sunsets were great. Beds were very comfortable. No complaints from other guest staying with us. Deck area and acess to beach was good and allowed for alot of people (12) in our party to gather and talk. The separate unit below was good because it allowed some separation with the part of our group who had a family of 6 (six). Unit had a kitchen area as well. Scott was great with communication as well. Plenty of beach chairs, toys etc. The area does not have alo of eating establishments and you have to travel about 20 mins to nearest reasonably pruced grocery store. Definitely would rent again and hope to return if all dates with our family can work out. GREAT STAY!!

The beach house was amazing!! The decor and the design of the house was perfect. The view from the deck was beautiful and I loved sleeping with the screen door open as you could hear the waves crashing!! We were here for our daughter’s wedding at the dunes on the beach.The house had everything you needed for a wonderful stay!! Scott & Gwen were perfect hosts. Home & Hosts Set The VRBO Standard
Take notes other hosts, this property is how it’s done! We didn’t have a need/want for anything. The hosts literally thought of it all from labeled light switches, a binder full of clear information about the property, kitchen was stocked with quality (NO dollar store silverware TY!) & a quantity of different items, extra bedding, a little first aid kit, binoculars, a shed full of outdoor fun and so much more compared to other places we’ve stayed. Favorite spots were watching sunsets on the deck or in the wooden swing and laying in the sun in the lawn chairs out of the wind. Kayaks and paddle boards were fun on the calm lake days. Upstairs level is decorated so beach house cozy. The house looked clean, smelled clean and was very clean. Just bring your food, paper products, laundry stuff and beach towels. If you forgot something there is a small grocery/party store 5 minutes down the road that has literally everything. Special, special property! Thank you for being amazing hosts and giving my son a very sweet birthday surprise!

A Great Time
My family and I stayed here in July 2023. We had an amazing week. What a wonderful house and location. Hosts were easy to reach and very helpful. We had a group of 5 kids and they had a blast - lots to do with the beach, kayaks, dune rides, mini golf and more. We hope to return!

This cottage is hands down the best Vrbo we have stay in. So clean. Great communication with the owners. The location is perfection. Huge deck (with baby gates) that leads down right into the sandy dunes where our toddlers loved to play. And we never had to worry about them running into the water bc of the gates! Truly this cottage is beautiful and we can’t wait to rent it again.

Couldn't have asked for a better vacation for grandparents through grandkids. Amazing location for the kids to take advantage of both Lake Michigan and Silver Lake Creek that runs in front of house. Significantly more beach than we experienced at an adjacent location 2 years ago. Multiple kitchens allowed for adequate food storage and preparation. Looking forward to returning next year.

A wonderful week on Lake Michigan
Our family enjoyed a wonderful week together at this house. The location, being right on Lake Michigan, was amazing. Many memories were created and will be cherished. Everything was as advertised in the listing and met our needs. The house was clean and the amenities were clearly outlined in communications from Scott and Gwen. While we enjoyed time in the house, the outside deck, chairs and swing facing the lake, fire pit, and beach area were huge highlights. This was a perfect house for our first trip to Michigan. The weather was absolutely perfect. Loved being able to eat dinner on the deck, have the large screen doors open in the evening while playing games. It was great to have access to the beach chairs and kayaks, we used them every day! As advertised. Wonderful rental, beautiful location, close to state park and ORV access. Light house within easy walking distance. Plenty of water activites and outdoor fun. Process for check in and check out were easy. Easy to contact owners when we had questions and they were fast to respond. Home eaisly accommodated our family of 10 with a wide age range.

The best weekend!
We have a large family and are always looking for places to say. This cottage was great! The outdoor area was fantastic for all ages-plenty of sand to play in before even getting to the beach! The fire pit was wonderful, grill was great. The stairs between the floors are outside-but that didn’t cause any hiccup for us! Great stay. Beach was beautiful, very close with hardly any steps! A little slice of Heaven.

You just can’t beat this property. It is literally steps away from Lake Michigan with an intentionally placed deck and seating to enjoy the scenery just above the beach. The home itself is beautiful and the owners have done everything to make sure it’s a joyful and convenient stay, including having inflatable water toys already blown up for you! We found very few reasons to ever leave the property during our week long stay. We hope for many more trips here in the future and are so grateful that Scott and Gwen opened up their lake home for others to create special memories. Thank you thank you!
