Peanut Gallery where memories are made. Now with a sauna!

Welcome to our beautiful Michigan Upper Peninsula paradise! The cabin is in marvelous condition and equipped to make for a memorable stay. It is powered by a solar array and battery with a gas generator backup. All of the comforts none of the guilt. The 4 bed, 2 bath log cabin sits on 14.8 acres of quiet forest with 450 ft. of lake frontage on Peanut Lake.
At over 2700 square feet, this cabin is a cozy retreat for a small group or a comfortable getaway for a large family. For the more relaxation-minded, there are lake views from most of the main floor and easy access to the wraparound deck. The open floorplan of the dining area, comfortably furnished living room, and a breakfast/sitting nook offer room to spread and enjoy company, as well as quiet corners to just watch the world (and various critters) go by.
The property is perfectly located to take advantage of viewing or hunting in this area and exploring the thousands of acres of national forests bordering the property. Just a few yards out the back door is a lake that is stocked with trout, bass and other fish. For the Winter adventurer, there are thousands of miles of trails all around the property making this cabin the perfect snowmobile retreat. Located just a short distance from: Pictured Rocks, National Forests, Tahquamenon Falls and much more.

Wonderful home for our Family trip
Laura's place was clean, quiet, and just perfect for us. It was remote and ran off of solar power but there was a generator that came in handy and was so easy to use! Beds were comfy and the kitchen was stocked with tons of cooking pans/pots and utensils. If we return to the UP we will definitely try to stay at the Peanut Gallery again.

Family vacation
My family and I stayed in the Peanut Gallery in mid July. Although the weather was rainy, that did not stop us from enjoying our time in this lovely, well appointed home. Close to attractions and miles and miles of trails to ride our four wheelers on. I highly recommend Peanut Gallery if you are looking for a comfortable and extremely picturesque place to stay while you explore the wild U.P.

Quiet and Relaxing
Loved the property and the view of the lake was amazing. It was absolutely peaceful which was a nice get away and allowed our family to connect. We had some issues with the solar power, but the place was big enough for a family of 9 to have space in.

Great secluded location
The views are endless and the lake is great we caught several large mouth and blue gill everyday we were there (we catch and release). We would definitely go back here and there are parks and trails for riding all over the place. Thank you for a great vacation get away!

Great Family Vacation Spot
What a beautiful cabin!.Immaculately clean, Plenty of room for all family members from Grandparents to grandkids, spacious with plenty of room to relax, read, play cards and games indoors as well as all the outdoor games we brought along. Plenty of firewood to have nightly campfires and several uses of the sauna (which was also immaculate). We ventured out on most days and visited the Maritime Sailors Museum, Oswald’s Bear Ranch, Tahquamenon Falls, Lake Superior, a brewery, kayaked the lakes, and did a lot of fishing. The place was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils, and dishes. We were very impressed with the solar power which met the needs of our entire family. We all loved the place!!

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful
Our family -- ranging from 16 years old to nearly 80 -- all enjoyed our stay. This was among the most peaceful and quiet places that I have ever stayed. The hosts were responsive and eager to please. The location -- near a small lake, deep in the woods -- was truly unique and memorable. The location makes everything in the UP easily accessible.

Happy Trip!
This place has everything except the noise! It is so quiet up there. I could go out on the deck and fired up the grill, relaxed while dinner was cooking on the grill. There’s no need to bring anything except clothes, a few days of food, and company.

We enjoyed the sauna! Perfect after swimming in the lake. A beautiful place for walking the trails. I loved relaxing in the hammock at the deck and breathing in the fresh air. I want to come back for the fall colors.

Great place for friend and family gathering
The cabin is fantastic. Everything is in good order and clean. It is just a short distance to Pictured Rocks and many other places you’ll want to visit. The view from the cabin is beautiful. I could spend my whole day just sitting on the deck watching the birds and chipmunks. It was such a treat, I enjoyed the view at the deck, and I had a hummingbird just inches from me.

A week in the woods
Really enjoyed the remote location on a small quiet lake. Short trip to multiple national & state parks (Tahquamenon Falls/Pictured Rocks). Great hiking, breath-taking waterfalls in area. Property owner very responsive to any questions/needs. Great place to enjoy the great outdoors. House was well-stocked with garbage bags, paper towels, & toilet paper which was greatly appreciated as nearest grocery store about a 30 minute drive. Enjoyed the fire pit out back on the lake

Recharge with Nature
What a fantastic destination to decompress with beautiful sunrises, loon calls and pure solitude. The cabin (out of a Log Cabin Living magazine) is beautiful with abundant property and a lake to enjoy. The property owner reached out daily to ensure we had what we needed - a virtual concierge! Our family highly recommends this property for your next vacation. Book it soon!

lovely cabin in the woods
My family stayed here for a week while we explored the U.P. and had a great time. It's less than an hour from the cabin to Tahquamenon Falls and a reasonable drive (90 minutes or less) to many other U.P. attractions near Manistique and Munising as well as the ferry to Mackinac Island in St Ignace. The cabin itself was lovely, including a large covered porch with beautiful views of the lake and a well-stocked kitchen and numerous beds, plenty of space to spread out. Laura was a great host, checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for making our first family vacation in a while such a pleasure.

Beautiful Lakefront Nature, Secluded Yet Close Enough to Attractions, with Conveniences of Home
Beautiful view of the lake from the living room and especially sitting out on the relaxing, spacious porch. Secluded and quiet - the birds and stars were amazing. We brought kayaks and enjoyed relaxing times out on Peanut Lake - saw turtles on the logs - enjoyed walks on the trails and driveway - saw tiny frogs and picked raspberries. Had fun playing volleyball and horseshoes in the sandy area of the yard and enjoyed many nights of campfires by the lake. The cabin also has plenty of hot water for 10 people and wi-fi was sufficient. Close enough to drive to Upper Penninsula Michigan attractions like Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, Kitch-iti-kipi, and Au Sable Dunes - Oswald's Bear Ranch was super close and fun too! Hosts very kind and responsive to communication.

We really enjoyed our vacation here. We caught some fish, loved being out on the lake, eating s’mores, resting in the hammocks and just relaxing on the porch. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity- away from it all- this is the place to go!

Beautiful morning views of the small lake. Fantastic porch. Lots of space. Very good beds. Remote, but you get a great feel for the UP. Centrally located between Pictured Rocks hikes and Tahquamenon Falls hikes. Around 45 minutes from each. Kitchen has everything you can think of. Laura is very helpful and attentive.

North Woods Excellence
The Peanut Gallery is a huge lodge style cabin located a short drive from the towns of Newberry and McMillan in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s also a short drive Tahquamenom Falls and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The property is quiet and peaceful and features 15 acres of hiking, fishing and nature watching but it’s also a spacious modern home with beautiful lake views. I was impressed that the house is self sufficient. Well water runs clean with strong pressure to the showers and sinks. Solar arrays and propane provide more than enough energy for the modern appliances and entertainment, including high speed internet and ROKU television. Cellular coverage is spotty but internet based communication like WhatsApp work just fine. There are many cooking options- a large gas stove in a spacious kitchen along with a gas grill on the deck and even open fire pit grills for wood fired cooking! I highly recommend this rental as a true “get away” destination.
