Horrible Communication Made for a Difficult Stay
The property is as advertised. Older duplex that has modern upgrades. Sound carries throughout the unit and from the connecting home but pretty much what you would expect. It’s not a ski in/out but it is very close to the lodge. Parking was an issue because of the connecting unit and lack of labels on where to park (despite what the listing says). The big problem was horrible communication with the host. The host is a 3rd party management company that requires you to jump through several additional hoops to confirm booking, get check in information, get help with issues, etc. Before check in you have to do an additional ID verification, which for some reason failed and we got a threatening message that our stay would be canceled the day before our trip, had to jump through hoops with both the host and vrbo to fix. Then they never sent check in info which we had to hound them for again. Then we had an issue with the showers (silly but the house full of adults could not figure out how to turn the shower on, turns out there is a secret trick to it). It took several attempts to reach out to the host both directly and through the VRBO app to receive assistance. Only after I asked for a refund for our stay did they finally respond. There is a very expensive “host” and “service” fee added on which basically doubled the price of the listing but we spent half our trip having to deal with these issues so I’m not sure what we paid for. Made the trip very frustrating and unenjoyable.
