"This new building was a great stay. No issues with the place. Owners were very responsive. Location was great just north of all the fun and located on the boardwalk. This was our first time visiting and our friends had several issues with their accomodations but luckily we were trouble free. I would call this place well located, and a safe bet for anyone. "Really enjoyed my stay at Areca House. I was there solo for a vacation; however, it would be fine too for a couple. Great location to the beach (just across the street), as well as close to restaurants (within walking distance). It was great to enjoy Garifuna places of interest (wonderful food, etc.). Doc responded quickly to my initial inquiries, and Janette provided a helpful introduction to the place after I arrived. Would recommend Areca House!"

"We’ve been to Placencia several times, but our first stay here. Loved it! Candace’s advice and arrangements, for guides, restaurants, even a massage, were dead on. The location is within easy walking distance of all we could have wanted. And guides picked us up on the beach in front of the property! We thought this might be our last visit here, but reconsidering now. "

"Gary and Tina have really found a piece of paradise and built it up into a lovely little resort. It is in the middle of the real Belize. Closer to nature than The other locations that I stayed. There were dolphins visible from the dock. The beautiful reef, teeming with fish was a short paddle away. The Belizean cook made creative dinners nightly. Fresh catch of the day was delivered by a local fishermen to the dock. The number and variety of birds was amazing! I’ll be back! "
