"We loved our stay! The property grounds are beautiful and meticulously kept, our rooms were clean and modern, the Splash Water Park was fun for both our 5 year old son and for the adults, the pools were clean and great for swimming with our son, the beach was clean and beautiful, and the food was AMAZING!! The breakfast buffet was fresh and had so much variety and was SO tasty, and all the restaurants were fantastic in their multi-course meals in taste, quality, quantity, and presentation. The cafe "Capuchino" was AMAZING and had the best desserts and Baileys Iced Coffees. The cocktails at the bar across from the "Capuchino" cafe was SO great at making cocktails! We loved every one! The staff was always so kind and caring and helpful, and we loved interacting with them everyday. The ocean was always at a yellow flag while we were there, so it wasn't safe enough for our 5 year old son to swim in due to strong waves, but for adults, it was great and actually warm! What a great Pacific Ocean beach! The selection of shops in the little street between the two resorts was delightful, and we found wonderful souvenirs in the shops. Overall, we HIGHLY recommend this all-inclusive! This was our second time there (with the first being in 2010 to the neighbour property RIU Guanacaste All-Inclusive), and we are so glad we went back now with our son and definitely want to go back again! "Beautiful Place, on the mountain side of the pacific coast, the main staircase from reception down to the first large pool is incredible. Birds, Monkeys, Iguanas--everywhere. Nice people, friendly service, lots of food and drink options. Beach has wonderful shells at low tide and great swimming. Rent a car for your stay and travel on your own to some of the remote beaches to the North--the roads are rough--but the adventure is something you will remember for the rest of your days. Take two big drives--go to Monte Verde and see the cloud forest--don't forget to drink some coffee in Monte Verde's small town on the way out. Then go to Rincón de la Vieja National Park and see the volcano. Just incredible. VIDA PURA"

"Everything was great inside The Palms hotel. It’s when you go outside and walk to the beach to the left side of the hotel and you find a lot of graffiti and trash around the area. There’s a soccer field right in front and people going to the beach park there so that’s probably why. Also there’s some homeless people that hang out there by the skate park making it feel a little sketchy. Wouldn’t recommend going through this street at night due to it being very dark with lack of lighting. "

"We might have to go here every year! This is one of the most exceptional locations we’ve been to thanks to the upscale villas surrounding the town and the general beauty of Las Catalinas. The concierge desk was like having personal assistants to any requests to arrange transportation or reservations at other local restaurants or adventures. The staff were very accommodating in every way. Every time you ask for something the reply would be “it’s my pleasure…” All the staff were bilingual, the room was spacious and comfortable, modern and well appointed. We loved walking out of our room right onto the beach where you have plenty of amenities if you choose to indulge in beach sports or leisure. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return."

"We had an absolutely fantastic experience at Wyndham Tamarindo. The staff were friendly and beyond helpful! The rooms were clean and the view was stunning. Breakfast was absolutely amazing, we enjoyed the pool, and the hourly shuttle made getting to and from downtown so quick and easy!! Highly recommend staying here! We would come back in a heartbeat!"

"Our stay at the JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort was nothing short of perfect! The property was beautiful & well maintained, the staff was friendly, the food was delicious, & the excursions were well organized & fun. Our room was cleaned & restocked to perfection each day & we were so happy we’d thought to reserve a room with an ocean-facing balcony. Each night, the sunset was an event not to be missed! In addition, the serpentine, infinity pool was large enough to provide guests with varying levels of enjoyment. A water volleyball game at one end of the pool went unnoticed by guests looking for quiet relaxation in another area. Over the course of our week-long stay, we got to experience the warmth & friendly service of the resort staff. We looked forward to being greeted each day by hostess, Karen, who greeted us by name & easily recalled our dining preferences. In addition, Josue and Gustavo, stand out for their exceptional service & sincere interest in our comfort & enjoyment of the property’s many amenities. As vegetarians/pescatarians & coffee lovers who do most of our own cooking, we were concerned that the resort would not meet our dining preferences. The opposite was true: the breakfast buffet at the resort restaurant, Pimento, had something for everyone. Local fruit, along with the biggest buffet we’ve ever seen, including egg & quesadilla bars, provided a substantial start to each day’s activities. Servers were friendly, attentive & refilled our cafe con leche until "
