Villa Gioconda is a contemporary and comfortable seven-bedroom villa which sits overlooking the stunning waters of the Sorrento coast. The beautiful, panoramic landscapes envelop the house, with the sea to one side and the lemon-tree spotted hills to the other side. These bold, uniquely Mediterranean colours continue inside the house which is spacious, airy and designed to offer luxury combined with functionality for a useable and attractive holiday home.
Stepping inside, you will find serene and open-plan living spaces which all lead into each other yet offer private little nooks for unwinding with a glass of wine. The kitchen, dining and living areas are ideal for a large family or group of friends to spend quality time together and with a piano or the integrated Bose sound system, you can choose how you play your background music for dinner! When you wish to unwind for the evening, you can sink into one of the many sofas and enjoy a film on the flat-screen TV before retreating to one of the seven gorgeous en-suite bedrooms for the night.
The outside areas of the villa are extensive and offer something for the whole family to enjoy. There are the private pool and pool-side seating areas ideal for splashing around having fun or perhaps you would prefer a bit of peace and quiet soaking up the views from the hot tub. There are also planted garden spaces and terraces to enjoy at the villa too.
If you wish to visit the coast which entices you down from the villa, then you are a short walk away from either a rocky or sandy beach meaning you can head to whichever you would prefer and be enjoying an ice-cream on the beach shortly after leaving the door. When you need something more substantial to eat, then you are perfectly placed to visit some of the best restaurants in the area which are dotted along the beach fronts.
This area of the South of Italy also has plenty of amazing towns and cities you can visit for day trips by car, bus or by train from nearby Sorrento. Sorrento itself is 16km away and is a stunning town with everything you could need; cafes, restaurants, markets, historic buildings and little antique shops. Just outside of Sorrento centre you will also find plenty of beaches and rugged walking trails where you can escape to enjoy the olive or lemon groves on the hillsides.
A little further out too are other towns and cities well worth a visit, including Pompeii, Salerno and Naples which can be reached within ninety-minutes or less as well as the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Location:
If you would like a holiday where you split your time between relaxing by the pool at the villa and visiting the local beaches, shops and restaurants then this is the ideal villa. There are plenty of eateries within a short distance of the house so you are well placed for a slow-paced holiday.
Of course, you can spend some of your time relaxing and some of it exploring all of the sites the south of Italy has to offer and Villa Gioconda is a great base for your adventurous days too whether you want to get out into nature or explore more of the local beaches or if you want to visit some of the nearby archaeological sites or museums, there is something for everyone in the area.
The nearest large town to the villa is Sorrento which is a much-loved holiday destination and is just 16km away. You could drive to Sorrento or take a bus from the nearby bus station. Sorrento has a thriving centre with all of the shops, cafes and restaurants you could wish for! The antique shops and artisan shops are especially great to visit and the little seafood restaurants on the Marina Grande should not be missed. Sorrento also has plenty of sites to see and you could visit many times and not run out of things to see. The Monastery of St Francis is made up of buildings and churches which were built between the 8th-16th centuries and is a really interesting place to visit. If this awakens your historical interests then you could also head to the Correale di Terranova Museum which is renowned for its beauty as well as its fantastic art collections, the museum also has lovely gardens which are open to visitors.
From the villa, you are also well placed to take a boat trip to the stunning island of Capri which takes just 20 minutes from Sorrento or you could drive or join an organised tour to Pompeii and Herculaneum which is 40km from the villa. It would be a shame to visit the area and miss out on seeing the fantastically preserved buildings, streets and even people which were frozen in time after the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. Set aside a full day for a trip to Pompeii as there is so much to see and the whole family are bound to enjoy the trip. On top of all of these incredible places to visit, the villa is just 60km from the city of Naples which is famous for its architecture and its pizza!
