The location was perfect—just a short walk to the heart of downtown, making it so easy to explore the beautiful city. The room was spotless, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. One highlight was the sauna—such a great way to unwind after a day of walking around. "I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this hotel. I expected that as an older building it would be somewhat outdated and old fashioned. In fact most of the facilities appeared to have been recently renovated from the huge triple room we had to the spa and the restaurant. Spa area is not huge but I enjoyed the wave machine in the pool and the sauna was the best I have been in. Breakfast was perfectly adequate. I didn’t dine in the restaurant but Easy Pizza next door was good. Location convenient for all attractions and we walked everywhere except the zoo which was an easy tram ride. Definitely recommend. "

"This hotel is one for the books. It is conveniently located in a quiet portion of the city but still accessible to public transport and food stores. Employees were well-versed in English and had no difficulty communicating with them. The rooms are also clean and tidy and the most important thing is there is a water heater for tea and coffee which I really appreciate. Breakfast is also a delight as it promotes Baltic specialities like the herring which I love. "

"The hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Latvian National Library and overlooks the Daguava River. Beautiful and relaxing river walk available to hotel guests. The staff were simply outstanding from the front desk attendants to the housekeeping staff. Everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and courteous."
