"Stunning location and staff couldn't have been more helpful. Had some problems finding it as signs to Pousada were poor, and no directions available. Parking is limited at hotel, although there is sufficient within walking distance. Steep slopes and steps to hotel itself, with no vehicle access, so you will need to carry your luggage some distance, although staff were happy to help. Once in the hotel however, the rooms, restaurant and support were excellent. Well worth a visit for the view...

"We stayed in a "Superior Double Room, Terrace, Mountain View". This was a cozy attic room, with modern windows w/shutters, a comfortable king bed, and a gentle/quiet heating system (needed in February). There was also a separate heat pump system, which we did not use. Nicely equipped room, quiet and comfortable. But the shower ran out of water (not just hot water, but all water) on our final morning, probably due to other guests on the lower floors(?). This is why our overall score is only...

"So much was excellent. The value for money is spot on and even though the restaurant is pricey for Portugal, it's still very good value. Breakfast was far more than we'd expected, especially after some poor offerings elsewhere. Fresh cake, cereal, meat, cheese, scrambled eggs, tea, coffee, yoghurt, fruit, juice, etc. Only suggestion to Sever would be to tidy it up a bit in places - outside litter pick, replace odd bits of tatty furniture (our bed frame and one shelf), strengthen the WiFi...

"It’s a well run guest house in the center of Marvao. A real treat where you could not ask for more. The owners, who live not far , provide for all your needs. Make sure you ask for the tomato jam"

"We booked well in advance, but upon arriving at 6pm on the day of our reservation, we were met with nobody, then eventually a kind man who called around for us and managed to track down the property manager, who disavowed any knowledge whatsoever of our reservation, going so far as to say he never works with hotels.com or hotels.es or anyone else.
