Old style property up on Bompard area , a 25 minute walk to the city - local ambience very pleasant and the espressos excellent - undergoing renovation, so a bit haphazard, but staff unfailingly polite and would be a great place in spring or autumn for a long weekend !

Nice stay at Mercure Centre Bombard La Cornich
We stayed 4 nights at the hotel Mercure. Quiet surroundings and good beds. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice swimming pool, and good breakfast. 30 minutes walk down town, bus L61 can be used, 30 m to the bus stop. Tickets on the bus. At nights, bus 83 or 583 to be used. Good value for the money, we highly recommend this hotel. Torild and John

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, with access to bus routes in less than a ten-minute walk. The breakfast is reasonably-priced (€20), with a good spread of options, and a very nice outdoor seating option. The reception staff are very welcoming, polite and accommodating. However, don't rely on the parking. The hotel only has about 15 spaces, and works on a first come, first served basis, and there is little-to-no on-street parking space around the hotel. In that context, the hotel is potentially a long way from parking facilities, and from the central train station. Additionally, the cleaning staff don't always respect room privacy, with no 'Do Not Disturb' sign available, and they seem more concerned with being able to finish early than necessarily respect client privacy. In our room, the shower needed a facelift, and the phone didn't work (when we raised this, we were told, "yes, it does"), and the sound-proofing is not great. Overall, an ok hotel, but over-priced for what it offers.

A stressful end to our journey; upon arrival, no one could be found on reception to give us parking directions and the street is very narrow. We eventually worked it out for ourselves. Having to wait 20 minutes to check in doesn’t feel appropriate when you are tired. The hotel is pretty, the room fairly nice. The shower didn’t give a consistent temperature. We could find limited dining choices locally and ended up ordering Uber eats to be delivered to the hotel. We decided not to try the breakfast.

I løpet av båre dager på hotellet hadde vi både gode og mindre gode opplevelser. Ved ankomst fikk vi tildelt et rom med store utfordringer i forhold til kloakklukt fra bad og toalett. Dette rommet lå i en endre bygning til venstre på eiendommen. Dagen etter ba vi pm å få bytte tom, og det fikk vi uten noe om og men. Her fikk vi en helt annen opplevelse. Dette rommet var nytt, rent og flott, og lå i bygget på høyre side av eiendommen. Her hadde vi balkong, godt fungerende aitconditioning, god seng og romslig bad. Bassengområdet var bra, og vi hentet rene håndkler i resepsjonen. Personalet opplevde vi som svært varierende. Enkelte tok sin jobb på alvor, ryddet, gav gode svar og god service. Andre kunne ikke bydd seg mindre om servicen. Det var f.eks. Ikke viktig om vår forhåndsbestille taxi kom eller ikke, eller å gi oss beskjed om hva som skjedde. Det var helt likegyldig. Eller å prioritere å rydde vekk matrester fra bordene ute, slik at ikke det kom flokker med duer som fråtset i restene. Hadde alle ansatte vært på nivå med de som virkelig gjorde en god jobb, og hatt et eierskap til jobben sin, hadde vi hatt en helt annen og positiv opplevelse av stedet.

Eine schöne ruhige Oase inmitten des Trubels von Marseille. Die Lage ist wirklich gut, allerdings sollte man gut zu Fuß sein oder ein erfahrener Autofahrer, viele Steigungen und sehr enge Gassen. Insgesamt ist das Personal bis auf ein, zwei Personen sehr aufmerksam, hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich. Was mich etwas gestört hat, ist der Umstand beim Frühstück, dass die Hygiene etwas zu wünschen übrig lässt. Nicht jeden Tag eine Serviette für das Brot zum anfassen am Buffet und fast täglich dreckige Teller am Buffet, welche man selbst erkennen und aussortieren musste. Achtung, wer Cappuccino liebt, sollte sich lieber einen Milchkaffee ziehen aus dem Automaten, im Cappuccino findet sich Trinkschokolade wieder. Schmeckt gut, kommt aber unerwartet. Ansonsten ist das Frühstück gut, viele süße Teilchen und unfassbar leckere gesalzene Butter. Letztere sollte man unbedingt auf dem herrlichen Brioche kosten, sofern es welchen gibt. Die Zimmer sind insgesamt sauber und etwas hellhörig, Ausstattung ist gut. Achtung! Trotz der Vorauszahlung bei der Buchung des Zimmers, kann es sein, dass beim Check-in eine Sicherheitsgebühr per Kreditkarte verlangt wird, bei einer Woche Aufenthalt waren es bei uns 450€, welches beim Check-out umgehend zurück gebucht wurde. Die Dame an der Rezeption konnte es selbst nicht verstehen, warum ihre Kollegin eine derart hohe Sicherheit verlangt hat. Dennoch würde ich jedem dieses Hotel empfehlen für einen Aufenthalt in Marseille.
