The house was well equipped with everything we needed. It was clean and the host was responsive. It was a wonderful home to come back to after our day outings.
My boyfriend and I and our dog had a wonderful time here! We loved the deck and the downstairs game area was super fun. We are moving to Hawaii soon but we will definitely be back when we want a mountain vacation! Thank you for your hospitality and sharing this beautiful home!
This property is very nice, and located just outside Asheville. We enjoyed the cabin and all of the amenities. The hot tub was great, and the views from the back deck are amazing. We would definitely stay again
This was the perfect place for our family getaway. Perched on the top of a mountain with an amazing view. The place was clean and comfortable and felt like a home away from home. The whole experience was smooth and top notch. Everyone was so happy and impressed with this spot. It was so close to Asheville, we were able to go into the city for some of the time and explore. Thank you so much for helping us make family memories. Highly recommended!
The property was excellent - exactly as pictured. The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed. There was a lot of space and everything was clean and comfortable. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Very clean property and can accommodate your entire party! Great for viewing the mountains and sunrise/sunset. You're in the wilderness quite away from everything so bring your provisions. Highly impressed with this home. Lots of others around so if you're looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it.
Four grandparents, two parents and two children stayed here as we were in town visiting friends. The layout of the house was perfect for our needs. The two bedrooms and bathroom on the top floor worked out great for the children in one room and parents across the hall, the bedroom and bathroom on the main floor worked well for grandparents who needed close proximity to kitchen and the other set of grandparents had the basement floor bedroom, bathroom and family area. Beautiful morning and evening views from the back deck, kids loved the pool table and ping-pong table. Due to weather in the evenings we were not able to use the hot tub - but the location on the back deck allows for enjoyment of the views while enjoying the tub. We would certainly recommend this location and would stay here again.
This home was just beautiful with plenty of room for my family of 5. The huge chalet style windows provide a stunning view of the mountains. There is a picnic table and bench swing on the top deck to enjoy morning coffee and watch the birds and chipmunks. There is a lower deck with a hot tub and perfect view of the stars. Kitchen was well stocked. We grilled out one evening (propane grill on the side deck just outside the dining area) then played pool and board games until late at night. There are TVs in every room but we never turned them on.
Located in Mars Hill area, we were about 30 minutes from Asheville and 30 minutes from Douglas Falls, two places we had on our agenda.
Three things to note:
1) This property is part of a lodge community so you have neighbors close by (it was mostly quiet).
2) You have to drive up a very steep and windy road to get to the property. Four wheel drive would have been better than my minivan, but we made it.
3) There is a little market at the base of the property and a mini mart in the BP down the road, but these have limited selections. If you plan to cook your own meals, you'll have to make a grocery run 20 minutes away.
The house was clean, in good neighborhood. But there was this very foul smell that was mostly coming from dishwasher. We turned it on before going to bed and in the middle of the night friends woke up and stayed up the rest of the night because of the foul odor. This was noticed in the top most floor bedroom where two twin beds are. Also there was a leak in the basement bathroom. On top of that the host charged my credit card without notifying me mentioning there was soap used in the hot tub and the oven door was broken. We were 8 grown-ups ladies who are aware of how to use Hot Tub ! Why would we use soap ! Host should have called right away! We were in the neighborhood when cleaners would have arrived! But they did not even tried to get in touch then but decided to notify on August 17th which is 13 days later after our stay that there was a damage and that they have charged my cc!
This is the perfect place for a family vacation! Great space with lots to do. Very clean and welcoming. View is amazing. Even the drive up and down is fun! Host and staff communication is very easy and fast. Everything you need is here!
We booked the Cabin before we knew that the hurricane Helene would hit the area. I must point out that for the whole week before we arrived, Roy (owner) was in contact with us and helped us and brought us all the options. We decided that we did want to come, and it was the best decision we made. May gave us all the information and was in contact with us during our stay.
The location is graet there is a magnificent view .
I highly recommend visiting we definitely will visit again.
Thank you Roy and May for a great time!
The cabin was VERY clean and had so many little extras that made our weekend stay easier! The host was super fast to communicate and when my son left his wallet, they were gracious enough to get it back to us quickly. We loved being able to bring our dog and just a few houses up you are literally at the top of the mountain with the old ski lift parking lot! Super fun place to hang out. It is a good bit away from stores (as it says in the description) so plan accordingly! The pool table and hot tub were a fun bonus. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
Very clean, well maintained. Plenty of extra supplies/ coffee and such. Only problem was wifi only worked well enough on main tv. Not sure if it was bad service or signal. But we wanted a tech disconnect anyhow for the stay.
