Family Friendly Cabin @4400 Ft-Winter Wonderland

Follow us on Instagram @laurelmountaincabin‼️ Our Wolf Laurel Cabin is the closest one to the Golf Club & only a short drive to the Amenities Club by the Gate. We are one of the few Hosts that offer a Free Temporary Membership ($250 value) to Both Clubs as well as No Pet Fee for your welcomed furry family member. More importantly, we are a Home away from Home (see Reviews). Stress just seems to jump off us as we drive through the gate. We have so many memories with our children & grands and they love the fact that it's only 200 paces to the WL Country Club (open May-Oct) and only a 50 minute drive to fun in Historic Asheville where you can check out The Biltmore, The Grove Park Inn/Spa and so many other great places (will send Albert Favorites)!

The WL Country Club offers a great golf course, casual & fine dining, wonderful Bar and Fitness Center. The Amenities Club down by the Gate offers a Heated Pool, Tennis & Pickle Ball Courts and a Fishing Pond. We will register your Family with each Club prior to your arrival which they require for admittance.
(NOTE: If you are renting at Wolf Laurel and want to use either Club make sure your Host has a Temporary Membership for you prior to arrival)

Despite being close to the club, we are secluded and love to hunker down on the outdoor porches, the fire pit or by the fireplace. During the Winter, we are one of the most accessible Cabins as all roads and the drive are paved and plowed after snow. Be aware Wolf Laurel Roads & Security "requires a 4wheel drive vehicle during hazardous weather".

The Exciting News is the Opening of the New Hatley Pointe Ski Resort within the Gates of Wolf Laurel located just beyond the Amenities Club and only an easy 5 minute drive from the Cabin. The new restaurant in the Lodge should be special.

Besides the normal stuff (golf, tennis, fitness center, pickle ball & pool), riding Mountain Trails from the WL Stables has been our favorite. We do venture outside the gate as there's so many great day trips (in addition to Asheville): Burnsville; Hot Springs; Little Switzerland (Blueridge Parkway) for lunch; and River Rafting. But the greatest amenity is beautiful Big Bald Mountain and the App Trail which is minutes away from the Cabin.

NOTE: The Amenities are open all year round. The Pool, Golf Course and Club Dining are open 5/1-10/30.

The Cabin:
On the main level, you walk into an all-white pine, vaulted ceiling open design that immediately ushers you into the mountain experience. Leather couches and chair around the fireplace is where most of the indoor relaxing is done except during March Madness when the guys camp out to watch the 60' Sony. The dining area is also beautifully furnished with two matching china cabinets and a large dining room table that seats 8-10. A fully equipped modern kitchen is bordered by a bar that seats 3 and large counter that seats 4 more. You've got nice china, serving dishes, wine glasses and cooking utensils that will accommodate a large & special dinner party. There is a powder room on the main level. A large Master is also on the main level. Elegant matching Pine Furniture and King Bed adds to the mountain flavor. My kids like to use the huge walkin closet for an extra crib or blowup bed for young children. The beautiful master bath has double sinks, a jacuzzi bath, shower and tile floor.

The lower level has two more large bedrooms with large closets. Both are beautifully furnished with queen beds. The rear bedroom also has wonderful bunk beds. A full bath is accessible to the bedrooms and den/playroom. The lower level has a computer center (with WiFi), a media center (TV/DVD/Games) with 2 couches (one a queen pullout) and a large round game table great for that late night poker game. Also on the lower level is full washer/dryer, downstair's refrigerator and all the fishing/camping and other sports equipment you'll need. You can also find a pack-n-play, highchair and stroller stored in the storage closet.

Huge porches run the full length of the upper and lower levels and provide a wonder view the 10th fairway and the mountains. On the upper porch are rocking chairs and a large teak table and seating that can accommodate 8-10 for covered outdoor dining. One other area we use a lot is the stone patio off the lower level which has a fire pit. Smores is a favorite for the grands.

Keywords: Beautifully constructed and furnished Log Home that is the closest Cabin to great dining and spectacular golf at the Wolf Laurel Country Club. Don't golf? Then you may enjoy taking advantage of amenities package that goes with the Cabin including Pool; Trout Pond; Tennis; Pickle Ball; Rustic Playground & Pavilion. But once you get inside this quiet retreat, you'll probably just want to enjoy it's beauty and restful quiet. For the hiker, don't forget that the App Trail is a quick walk away.

We were so lucky to have been able to stay at this cabin. The fact that we were able to bring our dog with us was definitely a plus. The location had beautiful views of the mountains. We felt very welcomed and had everything at our disposal as we needed.

Wonderful week in North Carolina mountains.
Our family had a great week at the cabin. It was very well equipped and the right size for our family. The decks were very relaxing with a wonderful breeze even in mid July. We made multiple trips to Asheville to visit Biltmore and breweries and also had some great food. The host was very responsive any needs we had. I highly recommend staying at this property.

Awesome cabin
LOVED this cabin! Beautiful, clean, well stocked with things you might need during your stay. The kitchen was very well equipped for our Thanksgiving family get together. We took long walks enjoying the scenery and sunrises/sunsets. We played games with the warm and cozy fireplace on. We are all talking about meeting back at this cabin in the spring! Highly recommended. ❤️

Great get away location
Owner was great to work with from beginning to end. House was great, well equipped and very comfortable for any family breakaway. Very clean, great location even in bad weather. It is truly all and more than what the owners stated it was. Skiing the Wolf was very easy to access.

Amazing House - Perfect for a Family Getaway
We spent a weekend at this home and had a wonderful time. The house was SO nice - exceptionally clean, very well maintained and equipped, plus a convenient location to the country club. The owners were very helpful in every aspect of our stay. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home - we only wish we could have stayed longer......it must be fantastic during ski season and the snow falling!! Hope to return for a visit again.

The Perfect Location
My golf group has stayed at another house in Wolf Laurel for years, but we've found a new home base! The location of the cabin is perfect (near enough the clubhouse to easily walk, yet tucked in the woods and private). The owner was very helpful every step of the way, and the house was well appointed. I plan to come back with my family as well as my golf gang too.

Perfect mountain home retreat. Quintessential ideal large cabin in the woods.
The home was spacious with plenty of room to spread out and have your own corners or gather together in the common spaces. Perfect location on the mountain. A short drive to a few hiking areas including the Appalachian trail. If you want to get away and relax (with WiFi) then book this place now. We have 3 kids under 6 and it was kid proofed and kid welcoming with plenty of toys, games, puzzles, and a whirlpool tub for all 3.

Fabulous Fall Getaway
Overall, we were so impressed with everything this cabin brought us, and enjoyed every minute. Comfortable, well-appointed. Marvelous views, both from back upper deck, whether the immediate 10th hole tee box from golf course, sunsets and mountains displaying Nature’s beauty. Comfy beds, living room and dining room furniture, deck chairs. Access to some of the best hiking in the High country, fabulous golf course albeit very challenging! We are so grateful to have the opportunity to come to such a special place; thank you!!

Fabulous visit!
We had such a nice trip to Wolf Laurel and stayed in this adorable cabin. We had everything we needed and it was in a great location. Private and yet right near everything. We hiked a bunch, played golf, and ate at the club's restaurant. Mostly, however, we just relaxed. Our dog loved the neighborhood. SO many great places to walk her. The owners were so helpful if we needed anything. The house was super clean and the bed..... so comfortable.... we slept like babies!! We will be back. We have stayed all over the world in VRBO's and this is one of our favorite stays.

Christmas with our kids
We have 5 teenage kids ad wanted to do something more than exchanging gifts this year for Christmas. We live in Florida and our kids have never seen snow- so we decided a ski trip would be a great surprise. We had an amazing time! We had ten hours on the road (remember 5 teenagers) so imagine our surprise and relief when we pulled into the driveway at 8pm and the cabin greeted us very well lit, a welcome card and a bottle of wine! And our trip only got better from there! The house is beautifully decorated, has a tremendous amount of space, and is very inviting! We would definitely come back. The house faces a golf course and our kids used it to sled down- the house even came equipped with sleds!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Rick and Renee/Charlotte
This was our first long weekend at a mountain cabin, and I guess we weren't exactly roughing it being about 250 ft from the club house, but this was PERFECT for us. The house is meticulously clean with polished natural wood throughout. Porches in ever direction. Even though we were so close to the club house, and even this late in the season there were many golfers, we never heard any sounds from people, carts, nothing. TOTALLY quiet except the sound of the wind. Although we would give the food at the club mixed reviews, the service was good and when the food was on, it was REALLY OUTSTANDING. Their bar is WELL-stocked! When you drive in, you feel like you are far from any "civilization," but we made 2 quick trips to Mars Hill (Ingles and a deli) and it felt like about 15 minutes each way. We were looking for quiet time, so we didn't spend much time in Mars Hill, but it appeared there were all the conveniences you could want there. The owner keeps a small collection of things in the kitchen (coffee!), and clearly has grandchildren visit because there were TONS of things to assist with smaller kids that were available in the home. Not having cell service (AT&T not available) was uncomfortable, but in the house, the wifi gave us all the communications we needed. We didn't have wireless access otherwise until we got back to Mars Hill. We would recommend this property to anyone that was looking for a very nice but rustic "getaway" experience; anyone interested in a challenging golf course; anyone that wanted convenient hiking. We found everything in the listing description to be 100% accurate and will likely go back, possibly with grand children.

Something for everyone. . .
We have stayed at different properties in the Wolf Laurel area for the last 8 years. From small groups (4) to large(10) our trips have included stays in all seasons with excursions to Bristol, TN to see the lights at Christmas to watching Unto These Hills, in Cherokee. This cabin has become one of our favorites. Close to all the the country club if you seek a challenging golf game, excellent dining or just to soak in some wonderful mountain views. The trails to Big Bald are also close, and if you are lucky wild blueberries by the handfuls when in season.!!! Never short on hot water, even the rooms are comfortable and spacious with a large master suite adjacent to the kitchen and family room which was great for anyone with limited mobility. Like smores? There's a firepit outside of the downstairs game room. Two large decks provide serene, private moments to talk, read or just watch the hummingbirds perform their aerial acrobatics. The drawback to the wonderful privacy afforded by the cabins location is its limited mountain views; but again, 100 yards up the driveway you can stand on the 10th tee of the golfcourse for scenic mountain views. Dining in? Kitchen utensil--check, bakeware-- check, stocked pantry with spices, etc.-- check, gas grill--check. They have whatever you need, so do a quick inventory before you run out to the store. Dining out? Nearby Mars Hill and Weaverville have some great casual/fine dining choices--try Glass Onion for I"Global Italian" or have a great casual lunch and top it off with a decadent dessert at Well Bred Bakery and Cafe. Don't forget Ashville, for wonderful dining, shopping and people watching. Maybe you'll stop by our favorite Tupolo Honey Cafe--ask for Trey! Brace yourself for an invigorating whitewater raft on the French Broad River with the entire family or experience turn of the century luxury and lifestye of American royalty at the Biltmore Estate--don't miss the brunch/lunch buffets at the Deerpark for under $20.00, you won't be dissappointed. So much to see, so much to do on any given day, and all from a place that will really feel like home. You can understand why this property is special to the owners and my entire family is grateful for their hospitality and warm welcome. If you need to just "chill" the upstairs family room furniture will cradle you in its sumptious leather embrace. And who needs TV? But just in case a 60 inch Sony is provided!! So much more to say, no more space! Enjoy!!

Great 4th of July
Terrific experience for me and my family, who were looking to beat the heat during the 4th of July weekend. Access to Wolf Laurel Country Club as part of the rental really clinched it. Beautiful views, comfortable space, and real relief from the 100 degree temperatures back home. Communication from the owner was excellent, as were the recommendations for activities. Would definitely stay there again.

Quick weekend vacation.
We had a great time! Deer were everywhere and kids loved watching them. Went horseback riding which was a lot of fun for entire family. Son and I played golf and it was a beautiful golf course. It’s a wonderful place to go and unplug as not very good signal unless at the house which was fabulous. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to get away.

Felt like home away from home.
Great cabin in a great location. This was our first trip to the mountains. We found the cabin to be comfortable, inviting, and well stocked. During our stay we ventured out and went horseback riding, hiked to waterfalls, and hiked up to Big Bald Mountain driving to the parking area from right within Wolf Laurel. The host and property manager were very responsive. We felt comfortable and safe and hope to rent again in the future.

Great cabin
We loved the cabin and really appreciated the little things like having a bottle of wine and a note waiting for us. Also loved that they had things like toilet paper, trash bags, etc already there. The cabin was perfect for our family. The only thing we had trouble with was the front gate having a different address than we did for the cabin. It was very strange. We would love to come back sometime soon!
