Pros - Friendly, helpful staff who do their best
Elegant feel to the interior (as pictured)
Rooftop area for sitting in the sun
Good price for interior rooms
Cons-
1) The 3-bed room we were allocated was an add-on to the main house, a concrete box on the roof. It was less elegant than the interior rooms. The riad is adjacent to a mosque (green triangular roof on photo #8), which like all mosques, has loudspeakers for broadcasting the call to prayer. Unlike most other mosques, this one broadcasts a 30-minute-long prayer each morning prior to the standard prayer call. We found it impossible to sleep through it.
2) When we asked to be released from the remaining 3 days of our booking because of this noise issue, the owners would not allow us to leave without charging us for the days we would not be there. The reply, transmitted by a staff member, was that we knew about it, it's on listing. As of this writing, it is most definitely not mentioned in the listing. Disappointing response. We chose to stay, and a day later, were offered a room in the interior, but elected not to move at that point.
3) While interior spaces in the riad are clean, the rooftop facilities are neglected. Cushions on rooftop sofas are so dirty that we didn't sit on them. Tabletops weren't washed regularly, and it gets quite dusty.
4) The rooftop room was priced the same as a 3-bed interior room, but is of lesser quality and also has the noise issue. The pricing should reflect the value.
