We chose this riad for two reasons, because of the wonderful reviews and because of the location. We wanted to be in the old part of Marrakech to experience the culture and the people and we weren’t disappointed. The riad is down a side street off the Main Street of the area. During the day the street is full of life. Local people selling fruit vegetables, a gentleman with a loom making scarves, children playing and the general bustle of life. The people said bonjour when we passed, nobody in this area hassled us to buy from them and the area felt safe and friendly. When we arrived we were met from our taxi, given mint tea and a map of the area. Time was taken to talk with us about what we might like to see and do during our stay. We were very grateful for this and the advice and map we were given proved to be very useful on several occasions. Nothing was too much trouble and all of our questions were answered fully. Our room was small but beautiful, had air conditioning and was immaculate as was the rest of the riad. The bed was firm and comfortable and after a day walking around the city I had no problem sleeping! The room was cleaned every day with clean towels and bedding. We felt bad as we are so messy! Everything was kept to a very high standard. Breakfast was slightly different each day with bananas, cream cheese, jam, honey and French bread offered alongside traditional Moroccan breads and pancakes. The roof terrace is lovely.
