Historical, newly remodeled apartment in the heart of Marquette MI.
Known as The LaBonte House the original building was built in 1908. Starting as a dry goods store then added on as a private residence it later became an antique store, as well as the offices of a local periodical, Marquette Monthly. Currently the downstairs hosts an art gallery. The upstairs apartment has been carefully remodeled to include modern amenities while keeping original art deco fixtures and charm. All original art and reproductions have been created by local artists and is available for purchase at the art gallery downstairs. This "Artists Apartment" is located in the middle of the active and vibrant North 3rd Street corridor featuring restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs, ice cream, and hair salons many within a short walk away. Picnic Rock beach on the shore of Lake Superior is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away.

Very nice stay ( 11 nights ) within walking distance of restaurants/bars, coffee shops, and small stores. I think that I already have it reserved for next year says it all!
I went to visit my son who’s a student. This place was wonderful to stay at. Very comfortable, very clean, great location. I will definitely stay again!!
Super cozy apartment with pretty, very comfortable furnishings. Beautiful soothing decor. Centralized location downtown near restaurants and shops. Easy access to highways for day adventures.
The apartment has such character. Love the porch to sit out on the porch with my morning coffee. very clean and nicely decorated. would definately stay here again.
Incredible location on 3rd Street and in short walking distance to everything on my list—Lake Superior, cafes and local shops! Beautiful inside (newly restored/decorated and VERY clean) historical building and stocked with everything you need to feel at home! Laura was quick to respond and reach out and even had a vase of tulips as a gift to welcome me! I would highly recommend staying here!
This apt was within walking distance of downtown. The neighborhood was generally quiet for being on a Main Street. Was able to store skis safely in the garage. Communication with owner was timely. Highly recommend!
This is an excellent property. We've stayed here twice and look forward our next stay. Having stayed in other properties I'm even more impressed with how the host renovated this property. She took special effort in the bathroom. The kitchen is roomy and very well equipped. I've missed this kitchen set up while in other properties. Very good host, wonderful location. You'll enjoy this apartment.
We absolutely loved staying here! Super quiet and comfortable. The location is perfect for walking around town and also close to the many trails in and around Marquette.
The apartment was well equipped with cozy bedding and bath linens. It has the charm of an old home with just the right amount of upgrades for a modern touch.
The hosts were attentive and the check-in process was seamless.
I hope that we will be able to come back and stay again in the future!!!
This is a nice, quite clean apartment. As renovated the apartment is very user friendly. The kitchen in particular is well designed, equipped with good appliances and nicely supplied with cooking pots and pans and dining dishes. Under cabinet lighting would also be nice. For two people the apartment is reasonably spacious and enjoyable. We like the location and have already booked this apartment for another visit.
Lovely restored second floor apartment in an historic building. Within a few blocks of locally owned cafes, coffee shops, art galleries, breweries, and restaurants along Third Street. Also within 5-6 blocks of Lake Superior and Downtown and Northern Michigan University. Never have to drive. Laura was a great host and always responded promptly.
I had a very nice stay. My host was very helpful on check in. Space and amenities are excellent.space was very clean. I highly recommend this listing in an up and coming neighborhood
I travel a lot and have stayed in many VRBO's. This apartment was one of the best! It was also priced very well, so it was a great value. I am from Marquette, which is a very walkable town, so the location was perfect. Laura and Matthew were wonderful and always responded quickly. I have already reserved the apartment again for September 2025!
What a great space! Located in the heart of Marquette above an art gallery & studio spaces near literally everything. Was sad to leave. Everyday felt like a spa day. The shower was my favorite. Loved the modern updates & the old fixtures too. Also, really loved having morning tea & yoga out on the enclosed balcony. Laura & Rachel were also very quick to respond to questions. Would highly recommend. Excellent stay.
