Old Dairy Cottage - Self catering cottage in the heart of rural Wiltshire. Kennet Avon Canal Nearby

The Old Dairy is a relaxing and tranquil cottage in the heart of the rural Pewsey Vale, Wiltshire.

Renovated in mid 2021 the property is located on the edge of the small family run horse yard, part of the working farm, and about 100 yards around the corner from our small and exclusive caravan site limited to 5 campers or less (Perfect if you want to holiday with family who have a caravan). There is ample off road parking for several vehicles and is completely self contained.

Step into your holiday haven, where every detail is crafted to embrace you in warmth and comfort. As you open the door, the heart of the home beckons – a kitchen and dining space that whispers tales of joyous gatherings and delicious feasts.

In the kitchen, you'll find all the essentials for your culinary adventures – a microwave, toaster, kettle, and a sleek electric oven grill and hob combo. And because we believe in making your holiday truly carefree, there's even a dishwasher to tackle the cleanup, sparing you from any unnecessary toil. The kitchen sides gracefully unfold in an inviting L-shape, offering ample room for your creativity. On the opposite side, a dining table eagerly awaits, ready to host the delightful spread of your holiday treats.

As you venture further, the living room unfolds, a sanctuary of relaxation. Sink into the embrace of two sumptuous faux leather sofas, circling around an old well transformed into a captivating glass coffee table. Feel the warmth emanating from the faux wood fire, a comforting companion on cooler nights. The smart TV invites you to unwind with your favourite movies, completing the perfect evening in.

Ascend the stairs, and the cozy charm continues. The master bedroom, adorned with a king-size bed, invites the sun's gentle rays through its windows. A built-in wardrobe and chest of drawers stand ready to cradle your belongings, and for your convenience, a hairdryer and tower fan are at your disposal. The second bedroom, a versatile retreat, can be configured as a king-size bed or twin singles, accompanied by a chest of drawers.

At the end of the hallway, discover the family bathroom – a haven of modern aesthetics and relaxation. Immerse yourself in the spacious walk-in shower and revel in the pristine ambiance.

Outside, a small picket fence frames the idyllic spot for morning coffees, complete with a flowered planter and a welcoming garden bench. Overlooking grassy fields, it's a tranquil retreat. The picket fence ensures your furry friends remain close, while just opposite, a fully fenced grassed picnic area invites joyous moments for both children and dogs or a serene evening picnic.

Venture beyond the gate, and the world opens up. Offroad walking trails beckon, leading you to the nearby Kennet and Avon Canal towpath, a mere 2-minute stroll away and is great fro cycling. Your holiday escape awaits, blending the coziness of home with the wonders of the great outdoors.

Your furry friends are welcome on the ground floor of the property (a small additional cleaning fee applies). There are several dog friendly pub's / Cafe's within a few miles offering opportunities for a quick refreshment while walking!

A lovely few days in this beautiful part of Wiltshire . Cottage was extremely comfortable , clean and well equipped. The tea, coffee, cake, milk, and juice was much appreciated on our arrival. A beautiful location with great walks on your door step. Would definitely revisit.

Another lovely visit
We have stayed many times at the cottage and each time it has been a very pleasant place to rest and relax, our dogs have been made very welcome with a lovely big cage for night time, indeed they seem to love it and we don’t hear anything from them even when we come down in the morning… we recommend this cottage for a lovely stay.

Excellent cottage!
In the quietness of a small village (Stanton St. Bernard) is this very nice cottage, located in the Midlands nature, close to a farm. It has all the luxury, very complete, and at the same time the atmosphere of an old dairy cottage with nice authentic elements. The hosts are very friendly as well. It is a very nice location for walking trips, and is also close to the Kennett and Avon Canal.

Proper Job!
The Old Dairy Cottage is an idyllic place to stay. We were welcomed with thoughtful conveniences; such as tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, and delicious cookies! We noticed another review had mentioned a lack of salt and pepper but they must have picked up on this because there was Salt and Pepper provided during our stay. They have created an excellent information folder containing everything we needed for the house and a really thoughtful touch was a collection of walks around the area, predominantly starting off from the house and covering a lot of this beautiful area. The cottage has been furnished to a high standard and we had a relaxing and peaceful stay; being near the livery we enjoyed having the horses in the adjacent fields. We look forward to returning dreckly!

Wonderful Vale of Pewsey break
A perfect base from which to explore Avebury. And the canal. Highly recommended. One small thing…bring your own salt & pepper. Surprisingly, none provided. Other than that…perfect.

Very comfortable stay and easy to visit family in the village. Loved the orange juice, milk and biscuits would have liked a little salt, pepper and olive oil. Wish there had been a cafetière and zapper for flies. We were a bit cold in bed. Rugs on the bed would have been good. These are very small grumbles and we will stay again. Loved Dairy Cottage

Short break for two school friends & two young dogs
Had a very relaxing few days at The Old Dairy… Everything needed is provided.. bedrooms are a good size, with comfy beds, bright with good views. The bonus if you have dogs is the outside Pen, we actually sat out there and ate most evenings…we also ate at The Kings Arms which is walkable via the canal.. The canal walks are lovely and calm.. We also used the farm track to the top of the vale..it’s the highest point in Wiltshire so amazing views Everywhere to visit is a ‘Good walk’ away so research what you like to do… especially if taking young children Also there is a large livery, the horse owners we all lovely & helpful with their tips on the area.. Would definitely recommend this property.. Hope to return sometime in near future..

Cosy, Clean and Comfortable Cottage
Loved the cottage. Nice and warm and very comfortable. It was converted about a year ago and has been done to a high standard. Good sized bedrooms, living space and bathroom with good shower. The owners were great- good communication and available if we needed anything but didn’t bother us. Great location for walking in the Marlborough or Pewsey Downs and close to beautiful Marlborough town. Great local pubs too for eating. Highly recommended
