The Space:
Tea Garden Creek Farm Retreat by Tiny Away is a quaint, tiny house surrounded by a lush green area, with amazing sceneries overlooking man-made pond paddocks and exceptional sunsets in the evening. This farm stay Victoria is just 20 minutes away from the heart of Wangaratta, within the vicinity of wineries, eateries, and local attractions.
The tiny house offers a cozy 139-square-foot home, from where guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the lush green surroundings and peaceful sunsets over the pond. With easy access to water, top-notch facilities, and a commitment to ecological sustainability. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).
Whether you're exploring this beautiful area by car or hiring an e-bike to experience the many bike trails, there is something for everyone. Local heritage attractions such as Brown Brothers Winery, King River Cafe, Woolshed Falls, and the Ned Kelly Museum are nearby.
Additionally, our beautiful snowy mountains like Mt. Buffalo, Mt. Hotham offer snow activities in winter, and many national parks await your discovery, along with the simple pleasure of unwinding in nature. This unique farm stay is a sanctuary for those seeking an enriching experience.

Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house. The guests may enjoy going for a stroll up the paddock for a morning walk, strictly only if no cattle are in the paddock. Guests must ask for permission to enter the paddocks, or walk along the quiet country road. Please no walking around the farm shed.
If you're interested, we offer pre-orders below with advance notice of 24 hours from our land host:
- E-bike is available for $40 to rent per person, and $50 deposit, payable directly to land host upon pick-up on-site.
- Firewood is available per stay at $25 for 5 kgs (Kindling/lighter/matchers are provided). Marshmallows provided with every firewood order.
- Breakfast Hampers is available for an extra cost of $30 each per person. The breakfast menu consists of: Fresh local bread/croissants, cheese from the local Cheese Factory here in Milawa. Local bacon, sausage, local eggs, hash brown, home grown avocado, Granola, yogurt, fresh fruits, berries. Freshly squeezed home grown orange juice & Espresso pod coffee.
The Neighborhood:
Tea Garden Creek Farm Retreat by Tiny Away is in beautiful Northeast Victoria, with abundant water flowing from Ovens River spilling into the farm’s boundary, aptly named Tea Garden Creek. The farm stay is just 20 minutes away from the city of Wangaratta, 15 minutes from Beechworth and 2.5 hours from Melbourne. It’s a beautiful escape from the city to reconnect with the outdoors and enjoy the pleasantries of Victoria.
Our local recommendations:
- Brown Brothers Winery is located in the King Valley's gourmet hub of Milawa, bringing together over 130 years of family winemaking, delicious local produce, and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy.
- King River Cafe sits at the heart of the Milawa gourmet region. The cafe boasts an eclectic and inventive Mediterranean menu that utilizes local produce. In pleasant weather, take a seat on the shady porch and after your meal, work off the calories by taking a short stroll from the cafe down to the King River.
- Woolshed Falls is a 10-minute drive north of Beechworth, where you can view the cascading falls, enjoy a leisurely picnic, or take a self-guided walk around.
- Ned Kelly Museum is among the few remaining living history museums in Australia and one of Beechworth’s most visited attractions. Ned Kelly is one of Australia’s best-known historical characters.
- Mount Buffalo National Park is full of alpine cliffs, granite tors, waterfalls and big views which make it must-see natural land of Victoria. It’s also home to charismatic Australian wildlife and 550 species of native plants, including plants found nowhere else, such as the Buffalo Sallee tree.

By car:
- From Melbourne, it's a 2.5hrs drive.
- From Sydney, it’s a 6.5 hrs drive
- The nearest towns are Milawa (5 minutes), Everton (5 minutes), Beechworth (20 minutes), and Bright (40 minutes).
- Reachable by both 2WD and 4WD.
By public transport:
- Train and bus to Wangaratta train station.
- Taxi service in Wangaratta.

- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Gas BBQ Grill and outdoor firepit are available (except fire ban restrictions)
- There are designated smoking areas on the property, please use the ashtray provided.
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Don’t forget to turn off all lights, aircon and any power outlets. close the windows and lock doors when leaving the tiny house/ property
Farm guidelines
- Please be advised that we have livestock (and noise) on our property
- Please Keep a safe distance from farm animals as they are easily agitated
- Please do not enter animal paddocks or yards without the land host's permission
- We also ask guests not to feed farm animals as they are on specific diets for their health

- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the [compost/cassette] toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
