"I booked this place as a home base for chasing the eclipse back in April. As far as "small" places go, I loved this one. A nice open layout makes it easy for you to unpack and maneuver around. I was traveling between St. Louis and Carbondale during my stay and I liked the small, quaint area the home is located. It's about a 45 minute drive from St. Louis and the drive back to the home at night was very peaceful on the country roads. It had everything I needed for my trip and I wish I could have spent some more time there. The owner was very communicative and had detailed plans on how to operate the heat and such throughout the house."

"I booked this house many months ago, before there were any reviews of the home. It was convenient to our family that we were visiting in Freeburg Il. It was listed as a 4 Bedroom Home, sleeping 8. -the bedrooms had NO shades -only 2 bedrooms had sleepable beds (foam topper thrown on floor and a bedframe with missing slats) were in 2 of the bedrooms, so no one could sleep in those rooms. -sheets on one of the beds were dirty and towels needed to be washed. -House was dirty with one of the bedrooms having "something splashed on them" -the house had VERY sparse furniture, only 4 chairs at the eating bar, NO dining area for the other 4 if there were 8 staying. -there was a sectional couch that when was brought from another room, made it big enough for us all to be in one room, but that was it for furniture. -there were crumbs in the cupboards and therefore ants were found. -No internet was found, but since the house was in such disheaval, not much time was spent at the home. -we had hoped that 6 people could have stayed at this home with a dog, but only had 4 stay. I had to pay an additional 100.00 to get in early as my childrens airline got in in earlier....what a RIP OFF...to see the mess this home has been left in. The area and subdivision is beautiful, and very safe area, but this VRBO needs to be managed, and I will see how a NON Refundable VRBO can be removed from VRBO when they are not as listed, and are definitely taking advantage of the consumer."

"I booked this house for my parents, who traveled 14+ hours for a funeral. My mom & Dad loved the place, commented on how nice it was, and how convenient it was, considering the nearest hotels we're far away and cost just as much. They also said that next time they were in town, they'd look to see if this house was available."
