Stay Away!!!!
Stay away for this property. We arrived at approximately 9:00 pm for our stay. Poorly lit property. We were supposed to have parking available and there was not. We did not receive communication about check in procedures, so we went to the front door that had no lighting. We rang the doorbell but nobody came to the door. There was a window with a partially open blind by the door and we could see a body on the floor rolling around. We rang the doorbell again and again no answer. It was extremely unnerving and didn't feel very safe. We got back in our car and drove away. As we were driving away, we received a message from the owner saying the key was under the doormat. It was strange that the owner would message us and not come to the door when the doorbell rang.
We didn't feel comfortable with the situation and called VRBO. While on the phone with VRBO, my wife looked up the property listing on VRBO and noticed the listing had changed. When we booked the property, the description did not mention that the owner lived in the house. We would never have booked this with that information. There were 2 reviews. 1 from 2023 that was positive and 1 from August of this year that was poor. The reviewer had the same worries that we did and ended up not staying at the property. If that review had been there when we booked, we would not have selected this property. VRBO is not refunding our money even though we felt unsafe with the property. Stay Away!
