Mariapfarr is a place with a healthy climate and one of the sunniest in Austria, but also a true ski paradise, with the nearby ski areas of Grosseck/Speiereck - Mauterndorf/St. Michael with 50 kilometers of slopes, Fanningberg with 24 kilometers of slopes (both 8 kilometers from the town center), Katschberg-Aineck with 80 kilometers of slopes and Obertauern with over 100 kilometers of slopes. This Lungau holiday resort also offers scenic mountain tours, theme trails, hiking routes, mountain bike tours as well as guided ski tours and cross-country ski trails. In both summer and winter, the Samsunn Vitality and Wellness Center in Mariapfarr offers plenty of bathing fun and relaxation! Directly in the town or in Tamsweg there is a good selection of shops for daily needs, as well as a selection of restaurants.
