Country Home with Private Swimming Pond and Beautiful Mountain Views

Welcome to Fox Ridge, a four season vacation rental in Margaretville, NY. Located on top of the mountain at 2100 feet overlooking the valley with spectacular views of the private pond and the Catskill Forest Preserve on 9 very private acres. Only 2½ hours from New York City, Fox Ridge is an inviting escape for you, your family, and friends.

Come and enjoy our spacious, beautifully furnished contemporary home. Take in the sweeping views of the mountains and large swimming pond from the newly expanded deck or from inside the glass enclosed great room with soaring ceiling and stone fireplace. Enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire on a snowy winter night or on a cool summer evening. Come in the fall and take in the brilliant color display across the valley or rejuvenate in the spring with new life around you.

Eat in, cook on the grill, or try one of the many excellent area restaurants. Spend an evening at home playing pool or watching a movie on one of the flat screen TVs. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or roast marshmallows on the fire pit. Swim or kayak in the pond, dive in from the dock or go hiking on one of the easily accessible trails. Finish up the day in our new outdoor shower.

Try your hand at flyfishing on a clean mountain stream or golf at one of the nearby courses. Belleayre Mountain offers excellent skiing for the entire family in the winter and outdoor concerts in the summer. All of these activities and more are within minutes of the house.

The 3 level house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The bedrooms are furnished with extra comfy beds and fine linens. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one with twins, comfortably accommodating 6 people. Come with your family and friends or enjoy a romantic getaway for 2.

Beautiful house in the Catskills

The house had the best views - great Mountain views plus a pond. House was roomy and had everything we needed. Great hot tub and was close to several ski resorts. Lots of games and a pool table. Very easy check-in process and the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful with any requests.

Beautiful place to stay

House was beautiful, well stocked, in a perfect area that was so quiet and relaxing yet close to Margaretville Main St stores, supermarket, and CVS! Very close to Belleayre, great local restaurants—book put together by Neil and his family was a great help! Loved loved loved the hot tub which was nice after a day on the slopes! We will definitely be back!

Great place for skiing at Belleayre

The house was perfect for our long weekend skiing at Belleayre. It is on a beautiful property with a great view and private pond. It is also close to the town. Very well maintained; the kitchen had everything we needed, and we enjoyed using the fireplace and pool table.

Ideal Catskills Getaway

Perfect location for a private Catskills getaway experience with easy access town and restaurants. The house is cozy and well maintained. The backyard offers beautiful scenic mountain views and a large yard. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful place to stay

My family spent two August weeks staying at Neil's property. Just days beforehand, a huge storm hit the area, causing some disruption. Neil proactively communicated with me while everything got fixed. The house is very nice but the pond and surrounding area are the reasons to stay here. The property's pond is beautiful, serene, and wonderful to swim in. Every night we watched the fog roll into the valley below and every morning we watched it burn off. We hiked, swam, and kayaked and ate at many great restaurants. Definitely recommend.

This is the third time we’ve stayed here and each time it’s been just fantastic.The house is located in an oasis of peace.All you can hear is sound of birds and frogs.There is also private pond where we and our dog can cool off.Our dog loves this place.he can run around property,play,swim. ITS ONE OF THE FEW PLACES WHERE DOGS ARE WELCOME AND WHERE THEY FEEL AT EASY. House is very comfortable we found everything we needed.The owners are very friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! Great Spot!

We have stayed here a few times during the winter to ski at Belleayre. It's an easy drive to the mountain. The house is cozy, and the beds are warm and wonderful. I always sleep well here. The host and I communicated easily and quickly. Love the pool table in the lower floor, too!

Margaretville Oasis

This is a beautiful home that is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for a Catskills getaway. Proximity to Margaretville/Arkville/Andes makes it a vacation destination to be sure. The view and surroundings are breathtaking from day to night. Hot tub and pool table are the perfect amenities. The lake was wonderful for swimming. Can't wait to return.

Cant wait to come back!

2 adults and 2 dogs couldn't have a better vacation. Lounging by the fire, catching some sun on the deck, taking a dip in the pond, and most of all enjoying the privacy and peace and quiet. A welcome break from the hustle of daily life. Staying at fox ridge is one of the best decisions we've made all year.

Anniversary Vacation

Stayed with my wife and dog for 8 nights. The property with the pond is amazing. Our dog never had so much fun. The deck, hot tub, and grill were all top notch. So were the beds. Very comfortable. Had a blast. Don't hesitate to book.

Lovely stay in the Catskills

Such a lovely escape to Fox Ridge. We enjoyed the peaceful mornings waking up to the misty mountains and pond and the evenings in the hot tub listening to the sounds of bullfrogs and crickets. Hosts were very helpful with communication and recommendations. This was our first VRBO and it went seamlessly. We hope to come back - many thanks!

A perfectly peaceful vacation!

We just spent 6 nights at this beautiful Catskills property. The views were magnificent and we loved hanging out on the deck just listening to the crickets, frogs and birds and to see the occasional deer pass by. We spent time everyday on the pond in the provided kayaks which was such a treat and one of our favorite things to do. The property is so private and peaceful- it was exactly what we wanted. The house itself was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. We loved playing pool with our kids and loved a dip in the hot tub. Beautiful

The view from the porch should be a picture on your wall. Being able to see it in person, with the sounds of nature around you, was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. Relaxing Retreat

We could not have chosen a better place to stay for our multi-generational family gathering this past weekend! The mountain and valley views were spectacular- even with a bit of rain. Wonderful retreat

House was very nice, just like the photos. Our whole family loved jumping in the pond and swimming! The hot tub worked perfectly and was enjoyed by all! Margretville was a small version of Woodstock with gift shops, art,thrift store and places to eat. House was a little far from popular hikes and attractions, about an hour drive. Other than that it was a perfect vacation.

We had a great stay with our preschooler and baby. The views from the deck were stunning and our preschooler loved swimming in the pond. The house was very well equipped and comfortable and we were surprised there were virtually no mosquitoes. Great proximity to grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants. Will definitely be returning in the future!

Amazing Family Vacation

My family of six just returned from a wonderful long weekend at Fox Ridge. The home and grounds are exactly as listed and probably exceeded our expectations. Our group ranged in age from 27-64, and unanimously voted it as one of our best family vacations ever. Highlights include our dog jumping joyously into the pond for a swim, kayaking, s’mores around the fire pit and morning coffee in the deck. We hope to all return next summer!
