"The Orpen's most important and impressive feature is a superb staff of friendly, helpful, professionals always at the ready to ensure a perfect stay. The hotel's common areas are lovely and the tastefully decorated bungalows are nicely sited for privacy. The property is well maintained and spotless throughout and small enough to make it feel personal. The meals, served either in an indoor dining room or in the boma, are skillfully prepared by a first rate chef team that always hit the culinary mark. Another big plus is the lodge is literally about one minute from the KNP Orpen perimeter gate. All in all, we got more than we hoped for with our 3 day stay!"

"Our stay at Elephant Plains Game Lodge was unforgettable. From the warm welcome to the seamless rooming experience, everything was handled with care and professionalism. The highlight of our trip was the remarkable safari adventures (game drives), where we had the chance to see elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, leopards, and more up close—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. The delicious meals, tailored to accommodate vegetarian preferences, were excellent. The staff also went above and beyond, assisting with retrieving our luggage from Johannesburg and providing thoughtful support with laundry and toiletries. Their hospitality and attention to detail made our stay exceptional. We are truly grateful for this amazing experience and will gladly recommend Elephant Plains to anyone visiting the area. We can’t wait to return!"

"This place is magical. The tents (luxury tents) are like nothing I had ever experienced before. The private plunge pool , though too cold to swim at, was an amazing watering hole and we had Impalas and Kudus there every single day. Game drives where incredible, Big 5 in a day. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. "

"Picked imbali as a good place for a short 3 day safari. Food portions were large and of good quality . There are some areas where the wood at the lodge and around the property need some replacement but overall didn’t detract from a lovely setting . Watering hole for elephants is directly opposite the restaurant area so good for breakfast and lunch . Safari drives were good and Jayden did a great job for us . Would have been nice to have a transfer from local airport Skukuza included in the cost of the room. Private hire was around £135 each way."

"The riverfront location was stunning and teeming with wildlife. We saw hippos, elephants, baboons and even lions right in the camp, and every meal was delightful under the shade of the big tree. Our lodging felt palatial, with our own plunge pool, outdoor deck and cabana, unlimited bar fridge, and total privacy. The service was outstanding in every respect, Ron and Louis were our butlers and spoiled us with attention. Nick was our amazing guide, and helped us spot baby lions at a fresh kill, hyenas and all kinds of wildlife and birds, not to mention his great sense of humor and superb sundowner cocktails. The experience was “once in a lifetime” but I can’t wait to return again!"
