Of Phoenician vestiges, Celtic settlements; Porto do Bares is the northernmost town of the peninsula, with little neighborhood and in other times mainly fishing. Today, it still maintains a charismatic rarity, hidden by times of curious glances, bathed by its beach of white beauty, clean and crystalline water of the Atlantic seas, small fishing boats that appear beached in season, calm, in front of the beach...

Tranquil family holiday
Very quiet and beautiful little village with a couple of good restaurants and nice beach and landscape. The house is located about 50 m from the beach and (in my opinion) the best restaurant in the village. The house offers 4 bedrooms across 3 stories so if you are travelling with older or injured people this might be something to think of. Two of the bedrooms have their own toilets with a share one for the 2 bedrooms in the first floor. The kitchen is nice and big enough but doesn’t have an oven. The living area is a bit too small but we didn’t spend much time in it as we were wrecked by the time that we were back from the beach. The house has a little patio across the street where you can have dinner on warmer nights and it has a bbq. Overall the house is fine for a beach holiday, quiet and cozy. I missed a bit of decoration and furniture as it feels a bit empty, and lack of storage (no wardrobes) or extra towels/bedding.
