Great place to get away
Shirley and her husband were kind and left us to enjoy the property in peace. They were responsive and the property was super cute with a beautiful view! Would definitely visit again.

Great fall getaway!
My husband and I enjoyed our anniversary trip at this location. There are plenty of activities to do local. Owners are friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I would recommend this for any couple trying to get a short getaway.

Perfect view
Comfortable and Lovely space to overlook the many moods of Lake Michigan. The deck was great when the weather cooperated but when it did not, we still got to watch from the big picture window.

Quiet with a View
For those looking to see a sunset over Lake Michigan, this is the place to be. Shirley and her husband greeted us when we arrived and then allowed us our privacy. The room is set up with a view to the lake while lying in bed. The patio is also freely accessible and private, giving you a chance to watch the sunset from the perfect vantage point between the trees. Great place to stay.

Wonderful hosts
Our stay was pleasant, the hosts were exceptionally nice and easy to contact. My only suggestion would be to offer a grill or microwave as the toaster oven isnt large enough to really do anything. Unfortunately the steps were damaged in a storm prior to us getting there but the view was outstanding!.

Not having a kitchen area took a little getting used to... but by the 2nd day we pretty much figured out how to operate things and life was just fine :) Shirley and Gary were great hosts. The view was breathtaking. Look forward to staying with them again next June.

3 days not enough!
Completely relaxing stay at your beautiful beachfront room! 3 days flew by so fast. Planning on coming back next year already! Our only concern was the steps down from the breakwater to the beach! Rather hard to navigate ! Good luck with the November election!

The VIEW! The SUNSETS! The WAVES!
I'll be back! I went down to the beach (13 steps, a landing, then 15 steps, then about one minute of walking through dune grass to get there, if you're curious), played in the waves, and relaxed. There was a misty day, and I followed the suggestions the host provided and found a Gravity Hill and was amazed, and went for a couple easy hikes in nature preserves. Purely by accident, the house was getting a new roof while I was there, but you can't always choose when these things happen. Luckily, down by the beach, I couldn't hear a thing, and evenings and mornings were quiet. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps another table/floor lamp or two in the living room, since the one that is there is a bit dim for reading in the evening. There were overhead lights, but they're not terribly atmospheric.

November priceless weather getaway!
We were supposed to be visiting family in Manistee and was just getting a small suite Attached to a home. Ended up the landlord moved us to a full house with a beautiful view of the lake MI couldn’t of been happier!House was beautiful and up-to-date ! beds were extremely comfortable had everything we needed.!Our landlords were very informative and very nice people ,they met with us talked with us but then we never saw them again ,they gave us our privacy!

Sweet little place on Lake Michigan.
Overall a great couple days away. Very private, quaint place. No microwave or stove but it really wasnt an issue, as we planned ahead. Two adults two boys (12-14) would be cramped if we were not a tight nit family. Perfect for us. Place needs a bit updating, but speculate it is in the plans of the owner as the larger suite is much nicer. Wood stove for winter escapes too! Could have used four total sets of utensils bit we made it work. Loved sutting out overlooking lake Michigan in the mornings and evenings. Good times with family!

Rare opportunity to stay right on Lk Michigan
You're right on Lk. Michigan and there is a big window to watch from, along with a balcony and stairway down to the beach. It's a lot of steps but if you're in reasonable shape it's no problem. It's a quiet completely safe area. I would not worry about leaving it unlocked and slept with the door and all the windows open. I was expecting a bit more of kitchen facilities and it really is not set up for food preparation beyond making a sandwich. There's not really anywhere to wash dishes, so be prepared to do takeout and paper plates. But that's a minor adjustment for the opportunity to being right on the big lake.

Not safe for rental and host will not respond to complaints.
Despite rave reviews, property was unsafe and suspect of major mold/mildew issues. Carpet was extremely old and dirty. Decking w/out railing, home eroding into Lake Michigan. Light fixture wires showing, ceiling tiles falling down, no privacy in bathroom, water smells badly, home host adjacent to rental makes noises late night. Difficult to endure one overnight.

Good view terrible treatment
Me and my family stayed 2 nights. First off there is no kitchen and the electric grill did not work to cook breakfast. I was accused of stealing 2 spoons and to send her spoons in the mail since I know her address. The owners LIVE in the same house, with just a door blocking and they stay the entire visit. View is great. The stairs to the beach are brand new but not to safe for a toddler. Stay if you like but it isn’t worth the money they charge. Texting on my personal cellphone to say I stole her spoons and to send in the mail is just UNprofessional.

Very Disappointed
We didn't realize that the suite was connected to the house - only separated by a door connected to the kitchen (we could hear everything going on). We didn't realize that there was no beach - the stairs (which were not very safe) led right into the water - no beach or deck at the bottom. We didn't realize there would only be a small fridge and toaster oven - no kitchenette for cooking (not even a microwave). We were not aware that there was no air conditioning. The suite smelled old & musty, and there was an issue with the floor in front of the toilet (it was loose). We only stayed one night instead of two - neither of us slept because it was so hot & the fans jiggled - very noisy. The owners were kind people, but the place was not worth the amount charged and more information (along with pictures) should have been included in the description.

Lake Michigan lakefront property
The place was freezing cold. Took 6 hours to warm up. The kitchen floor had not been swept or cleaned. We could not get some of the streaming channels she said she had. The view was terrible. You look out to the top of the owners roof. You could see the water through only a couple windows. On the positive side they had an electric blanket on the bed, which we needed as the house just getting warm. They did offer us the bigger house at the same price as the one with no kitchen as they had a cancelation.

We totally enjoyed staying at Gary & Shirley's place. They were hospitable and the place was clean and beautiful right on Lake Michigan. We enjoyed walks on the beach, sitting around the fire at night, and driving to TC. Thank you for sharing this wonderful get-a-way place!

Perfect Late Summer / Early Fall
Our host treated us so well. She upgraded our stay, and the uograde was actually just what we were looking for. We had access to a washer / dryer. The bath was lovely with a new shower. The home was beautifully scented. The bed was very comfortable. We also.had access to a a thermostat. The siundif the waves was so soothing. And thequiet datkness was alsomist enjoy!
