Many visitors to the Far North are familiar with The Famous Mangonui Fish and Chip Shop. The spectacular setting out over the harbour is a favourite stop for thousands of travellers. Muller’s Landing is located across the road and the full length deck shares the same outlook.
Extensively renovated in 2022 the property provides a seagull’s view overlooking the never ending action on Mangonui Harbour, one of the last working village fishing ports in New Zealand. On a daily basis bins of fresh fish are thrown from working boats up to waiting refrigerated trucks. Pleasure boats coming and going, catch your own fish from the wharf or watch others doing so. There is always something going on in Mangonui Harbour.
Over the sub-tropical Summer months finding a park can be tricky in Mangonui. Muller’s Landing has all the off street parking you will need. All of the facilities of Mangonui are an easy walk from the house. Restaurants, cafés, Information centre, supermarket, hotel, boutiques, galleries.
New décor and furnishings in 2022, a large lounge-room picture window was installed, comfortable new beds. Freshly laundered hotel grade bedroom and bathroom linen. A light clean upon departure. Unlimited broadband. Smart TV with karaoke facilities - microphone provided.
There is nowhere to stay in Mangonui quite like Muller’s Landing. In the 1820’s there were up to 40 whaling ships from all over the world lashed together in the Harbour. A stay offers a unique opportunity to oversee New Zealand’s oldest working port and visualise how things used to be. A modern, clean, stylish, centrally located, elevated, harbour-side house in a region rich with Maori and European history.
