Lots of work has gone it into this place and it shows. Wonderful to have a fully fenced yard for the dogs too. Keen to stay again and maybe bring the family next time.
We had a lovely stay in Mangakino. The house has everything we needed as a family and plenty of toys/games for the kids. Awesome back deck to sit and enjoy the evening on. Lovely and clean too. We would definitely stay again.
Unfortunately we were there for a very short time only, just enough time for a sleep ..
My co worker and I had a 2 day job in area and needed accommodation . Your book a bach seemed a great idea.
I suppose we only had time for a sleep, shower and coffee in the morning. Shower was great and beds very comfortable.
We had a great mini break at Waipoua Lake House…with 3 kids aged between 2-13 the house was perfectly laid out to suit their needs (esp appreciated the cot in one of the double rooms and the high chair) and although it was cozy for all of us there was plenty of seating in the lounge and we never felt cramped. Very clean and having the option of linen supplied was a bonus. Ample parking for our car and boat and good fenced in section - we will ask if we can bring the dog on our next visit!
A few comments were a little harsh, we found this place perfect and definitely excellent value for money!
The renovations done are pretty good, double glazing, new carpet, new kitchen, bathroom and even Netflix. The bed were great and a great layout for a family trip! Summer will be amazing in this house. We had our Dog with us and she met one of the locals which was sooo funny, a little bulldog.
Thanks Grant, youve done a great job :-)
Newly renovated and nicely decorated, but it listed that one of the rooms had 3 beds and only had a bunk bed & that there was a “hotub”… it had a lovely big bath in a beautiful bathroom but not a hot tub (maybe just wrong on the booking sites information, the emailed info didn’t say it). And the dishes/cutlery weren’t the cleanest- could be from the last guests? But I’d say definitely worth the price and description, lovely large yard excellent communication with owner the house accommodated all my needs (excluding the booking sites description)

I can't believe it
This place is really run down. The only thing that wasn't was the windows and the heat pump.
The decor and furnishings were new but the dinning table needs repairs. The shower is rotten and has holes where water damage has appeared.
Paint is peeling off the ceiling and walls with holes in them. It was not clean. I cleaned it better than I found it. The mugs had coffee/Tea built up in them or were very stained.
The coffee container was empty.
The place is well fenced for dog.
Host was good to communicate with.
Very over priced.
Unfortunately this is the worst place we have ever stayed in all round

Wasn’t what we thought
We where so excited coming to the bach yesterday but where really shocked how it looked inside. Everything was nice outside and the dog LOVED the yard but inside was a whole different story.
The carpet looks yuck and dirty and is a thin layer over just planks of wood, we know this because there are parts where the carpet is ripped up so could see the wood. The floor was just really hard and cold and didn’t look nice.
The wallpaper in some places was ripped and it didn’t look nice.
The shower was horrible.
We tried to love it but the presentation just wasn’t it. We thought about booking back in for my birthday in Feb since it’ll be summer but it’ll have to change a lot for us to book in again.
Hosts seems nice but didn’t really talk that much to him. Straight forward finding the keys and getting in and all.
Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage. Loved the location being so close to the lake.Everything was clean and tidy. There were dog Poos left behind from previous tenants so we cleaned them up. My only suggestion would be to please leave a manual for the oven. Had us totally confused! We were here for a dog Trial in Tokoroa and hesitated about the travel each day but was definitely worth it. Again, many thanks. Maree
