"When I asked some Italian friends about the most beautiful lake in Italy, they all mentioned "il Lago d'Orta". We decided to spend a week near the lake and were not disappointed. We liked the ancient villages of Orta San Giulo and Pella, the hikes around Ameno and the stunning views from the top of the Mottarone mountain, as well as the restaurants with great food. "Our family spent a month at Villa Caramino and could not have had a better stay. The Villa is beautiful and the location is convenient to many cities such as Milan, Turin, the mountains and the lakes. The host was very accessible and helped organize wine tours, and other trips throughout our stay. Overall, we highly recommend!!"
