Really enjoyed the quiet privacy and the collection of small wood carvings and glass pieces throughout the house. Good wi-fi, too! The area around Manchester was lovely for exploring.

This home had a lot of character! It had a wonderful kitchen, and it was easy to cook there. It had a beautiful dining room! We were there for Christmas and the owners put up some beautiful decorations, and a nice tree for us. Both of the hosts are creative types, and you could tell by the decor in the house. There was beautiful artwork all over. The hosts were helpful as they salted and sanded the walkway from the car to the house. The very hospitable. The view from the house of the mountains was magnificent. We like how the house was conveniently located. It was close to Manchester Village and the center as well. We’re all the cute shops and outlets are situated. We look forward to or hope we are able to visit this home again.

Great Place!
We truly enjoyed this home with a homey feel. The interesting collections and decor really added to the feel that we were staying in a home as opposed to a short term rental.

Fantastic stay in Waterbury
We visited this lovely home for the occasion of our daughter’s wedding. It is right across the road from the venue, Levity Mountain Farm. The home was beautiful, filled with incredible art by the owners and filled with anything you could Imagine. There was room to park, lovely out door space, beautiful views and it was a warm and comforting home. The owners were available and responsive. And kindly gave us some fresh garlic. A complete joy to stay here.

The Heart of Manchester
We enjoyed our recent stay in Manchester. This home was the perfect Vermont stay if you want to be close to the town of Manchester and all of the local area activities. We enjoyed the screen/sun porch, where we had all our meals. The best part was dining with beautiful mountain views. The kitchen was a true Vermont hand crafted kitchen with everything you will need. The owners were very responsive and even gave us a suggestion for a local thrift shop. If you appreciate woodcrafting, this house has a ton of artisan woodcrafts made by the owner. An eclectic Vermont decor abounds this home.

Charming, Rustic, Convenient to Manchester
The home oozes New England charm. It's literally filled with handmade wooden crafts and pottery, and the house itself is unique and extremely charming. The owners live in the barn just behind the house and were very welcoming. We hadn't expected the house to be on such a busy road which is quite noisy at all hours. Beds were soft and not terribly comfortable. I might stay again, though if I could, would probably leave the dogs at home and pick a hotel in town.

Disappointing stay
We chose to stay in a VRBO instead of a hotel as we were on a 14 day visit to New England and needed to use laundry facilities. When we arrived there was sign on the washer and dryer saying that they were inoperable. We contacted the owner and they basically said "too bad". Also the listing shows a wood stove and fireplace which we were also not allowed to use which would have been nice especially on those cold Vermont nights. The home was very dirty and dusty with many cluster flies in the window sills. This is odd because there is a hefty cleaning charge when you book. Does that mean the prior guests were charged but the owners pocketed the fee and did not clean. The owners were on property living in the barn. We felt no privacy as the doors and some windows did not have curtains. We travel to Manchester from California regularly to visit my mother who resides in an independent living facility in town but we will not return to this property. We would have left this property but it was the weekend and all other properties were booked. Additionally we prepaid for the three night stay. The owner should have offered some sort of compensation but did not. Two thumbs down.

Perfect location
We chose Manchester, having never been there before. So many excellent restaurant choices, interesting shops, beautiful buildings and homes. Well kept dog park. Places to visit like Hildene and Mt. Equinox. The vacation rental was about 5 minutes from the center of the town, but it was out in the country with a lovely view of the mountains, spacious yard area to walk our dog. The home was comfortable with a well- stocked kitchen with all the amenities. Stairs were a little steep. Nice layout with a cozy living room area. Owner available, helpful, friendly. Perfectly placed vacation rental - best of both worlds

Beautiful, convenient, comfortable
These hosts are sharing their own home and everything is thoughtfully considered. The home is charming, clean, and comfortable. We liked it so much we stayed 5 weeks and would have stayed longer except they had another booking. I work remotely and internet was better than what I have at home. Manchester is a very few minutes away. Fresh bread and veggies available just across the road at Earth Sky Time farm. I also came home with some stunning earrings I bought from our jewelry-designing host! Highly recommend.

Very nice, cosy home with road noise
We spent an early November week staying at this home along Historic Route 7 just south of Manchester Village. The house is a an old Vermont farmhouse that has been nicely renovated--very nice and fully stocked and functional kitchen, comfortable beds. For those interested, the carpentry work throughout is excellent! The artwork on display throughout the house is a real treat; some the work of the owners (woodturner of reputation). We were fortunate to have gotten an unusual week of sunny warm weather for November so we got to enjoy sitting out on the stone patio with a view of the valley and mountains to the east for lunch and a few early evenings drinking wine; relaxing! It has been noted in other reviews, but I shall repeat. Getting in and out of the shower would be a challenge for shorter-legged folk; it has a big, high transition from the bathroom floor to the deep shower/Jaccuzi-type tub. Also, like some old Vermont farmhouses (I owned one just across the valley), it is situated close to the road; I would guess about 12 paces from the front door. "Old Route 7" as it is sometime referred to, has a lot of traffic traveling 40-50 mph with the most traffic in the early morning and evening.

Absolutely Perfect!
Adorable VT farmhouse with huge backyard and view of the mountains. We had a wonderful time in Manchester (our second time staying in a VRBO in the area) and could not have been happier with our home-base. Lovely, eclectic interior that was just the right size for a family of 4 and our pug - who was very disappointed to leave. Our host was super responsive and we loved learning about the beautiful wood and glass art on display in the house. Wonderful property and visit to Manchester.

Beautiful home with everything you need for a great stay in VT.
My mother (87 years young) had wanted to get back to Manchester for a few years now. Her husband previously had a house there, but when he passed away she sold it. Needless to say Manchester held many beautiful memories for her. We searched and found this amazing home that would suit all of us, my mother, myself and my wife, and our dog (which we paid additional for) perfectly. Located a bit south of Hildene on 7A the house was close enough to enjoy all Manchester has to offer but also kept you far enough away from the downtown traffic. The house is beautifully kept with lots of tchotchke's throughout and truly amazing carved wood pieces which we believe were made by the owner. We wished they had prices on them because we certainly would have considered buying some. The house was very clean throughout. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need to cook with (pots, pans, propane stove/oven and microwave) and also on the ground floor was a nice dining room and table, a connected living room with couch and two comfortable chars, a smart TV with cable and a half bathroom. There is also wifi throughout the house for us to use if we wanted. The second floor had two very well sized bedrooms and a full bath. Overall the home was the perfect fit for us and everything we needed and we loved staying there. That being said there are a few things to be aware of. The upstairs bath has this amazing sunken jacuzzi tub and shower. Fantastic as that is, it can be a little tricky to get in and out of. If there were one or two steps on the outside of the tub and a grab bar on the inside it would make things much easier. While there are many of the LED nightlights throughout the house, it would help to have a brighter one on the second floor landing since there is no additional light there and it was very dark if we had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. We just kept the bathroom light on to compensate. The last two items were related to the bedroom my wife and I stayed in, which was in the front of the house. It is closest to the road and so if you are a light sleeper you might get woken up by some of the cars as the drive by and for me the bed was too soft. That is more a personal preference and my wife had no problem with it. In the end this is still a wonderful place to stay and we will certainly look to book it again the next time we come up to Manchester!

Great spot in Manchester area
The house is historic, located on a wonderful piece of property with great views of the Green Mountains, with friendly hosts living and working next door in their own remodeled barn. They were very responsive to every need, but pretty much left us alone. The view out the back and from the patio is like a Maxfield Parrish painting -- the red barn, the blossoming trees, the flowers and lawns, the soaring hills behind. House is well equipped. And it is only a short ride to town, with lots of shops and restaurants. It and a good supermarket. House has two bedrooms with queen beds, so we had separate bedrooms and kept in shape climbing the stairs while getting plenty of rest.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The nice big kitchen and the jetted tub were definitely highlights along with the charm of the entire place. Located just outside the heart of Manchester Center, it was the perfect spot to stay and enjoy all that the surrounding areas had to offer. Love finding dog friendly homes and areas to explore and this was definitely one of them. For anyone else Babymooning- Equinox Spa was great for a relaxing spa day. Lots of great restaurants and shopping. And a not too rigorous and beautiful walk was taken at Lowell Lake. Very lovely weekend getaway. Cute town nestled between gorgeous mountains!

So convenient to Manchester and lovely property.
Stayed in this lovely farm house for a few weeks while supporting my daughter while she hiked the Long Trail. Deb and Johannes were so wonderful to work with and they were very responsive if there were any issues with the house. It was a very comfortable house with all the necessary amenities. Their garden's out back were wonderful the enjoy and enjoyed talking with them about their garden's. I would definitely consider staying there again if I were in southern Vermont.

This was a perfect house to rent while wanting to be in the Manchester area. We needed a change of scenery and this comfortable, cozy home offered exactly what we needed. The house was clean, had nice furniture and appliances and had everything we needed. Also, they allowed dogs! We would not have been able to go away for the weekend without being able to bring our dogs. Thank you!
