Villa Balcony is located on the mountainside of Pantanassa, next to the traditional village of Rodia.
The location of the villa is very advantageous because it is located on the eastern side of the mountain and offers spectacular view of the whole city of Heraklion, the bay of Heraklion, the island of Dia and the Aegean sea.
Also, due to the location of the villa, at night, the moonrise offers a beautiful and romantic view.
The Villa makes the visitor feels like he is at the balcony of the city of Heraklion and for this reason the villa is called “Villa Balcony”.
The Villa occupies 140m² and it is a detached house. It includes a swimming pool (7,50m x 3,50m x 1,40m), 2 large bedrooms, 1 spacious bathroom, while the living room, the dining room and the kitchen of the house are located in a very large common space with a fireplace and a huge window (2.00m height and 4.00m length) overlooking the City and the sea. Also, the villa has an independent guest house with its own bathroom.
Each bedroom has AC (Air-Conditioner), TV, linens, towels etc.
Also, each room in the villa, included the kitchen and the living room, has a large ceiling fan for extra air conditioning.
The maximum capacity of the house is 9 guests and it is as follows:
1) The master bedroom has 1 large double bed for two people.
2) The second bedroom contains 2 bunk beds
3) In the living room there is a large sofa bed.
4) The guest house has 2 single beds with an independent bathroom
Outside the house there is a huge courtyard, with garden and flowers, overlooking the city and the sea, where various activities can take place. In addition, the yard features a wood oven and a large BBQ.
The villa is located in a quiet area, offering serenity, calmness and tranquility. However, the house is only 1 km away from Rodia Village, where there is a supermarket, a gas station, a bakery, a pharmacy, a café and traditional taverns. Furthermore, the villa is only 10 minutes away from the nearest beach of Pantanassa and a few kilometers away from the tourist seaside destinations like Amoudara, Mades, Helidoni, Lygaria and Agia Pelagia.
The village of Rodia is a picturesque traditional village of Crete, famous for its excellent view and the tasty food in its traditional taverns.
It dates back to the 13th century and the village took its name (Chiera Rodea) from its old church of Madonna. The church is located next to the villa of the historic Byzantine family Kallergi in the village. The villa is characterized by Venetian architecture and was built in 1553.
Also above the village, there is the women's monastery “Sabbathiana”. It is one of the few remaining monasteries that functioned in the region, during the Venetian occupation.

The beach is next to the picturesque small harbor of Pantanassa and takes its name from the homonymous monastery of Panagia located there. The beach is very worthwhile with beautiful clear waters and pebbles. Access is very easy and in the harbor there are taverns that offer traditional Cretan food in front of the sea.
Paleokastro (5,5 km)
Palaiokastro is a small, picturesque pebble beach formed at the exit of a verdant valley that flows through the torrents that descend from the village of Rodia. Near the beach there is a huge rock, the top of which was once Palaiokastro, a Venetian fortress that protected the gulf of Heraklion from hostile raids. The beach is not very organized and it is ideal for relaxing moments and good food in the traditional taverns.
Helidoni (6 km)
The beach of Hellidoni is located on the south side of Paliokastro. Access is through a wonderful staircase with wooden stairs leading to the sea level. It is a tiny beach with fine pebbles and sand in some places. To the left and right of the small beach there are several rocks that make the place ideal for swimming with a mask. The beach at its northern end also has a pretty elegant canteen that serves its visitors.
Mades (9 km)
The beach of Mades is located in the area of Lygaria. It is a small, beautiful village with a small bay with pebbles. It is not a very organized beach, although a large hotel in the area provides umbrellas and sunbeds to its guests. On the beach there are mini market and taverns with traditional food. The beach is quiet and ideal for fishing with a mask, as the rocky bottom abounds in fish.
Lygaria (10 km)
The beach of Lygaria is a beautiful beach with thick sand and turquoise waters, while the caiques make the landscape magical. Throughout the beach there are smooth rocks apart from the western part, which is sand. It is well organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, water sports, diving school, beach bars and taverns.
Agia Pelagia (12 km)
Agia Pelagia consists of many small coves with beautiful beaches. It was a small and picturesque fishing village that has evolved in a very popular tourist resort with many hotels, restaurants, cafes, bars and nightlife. The main beach of the settlement is a long and organized beach with thick sand and greenish waters. The beach offers many options for water sports, scuba diving, umbrellas, sunbeds and food.
Ammoudara (9 km)
Amoudara is a huge beach (5km long) and owes its name to the long sandy beach with the fine golden sand. It offers infinite choices for those looking for liveliness and crowds, as well as for those who seek peace and loneliness. Along the coast there are organized beaches with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bars, water sports and whatever you can imagine. In the evening, the center of the beach is bustling with life, as there are plenty of entertainment options in the area. It is distinguished by its organization and the choices it offers to visitors, day and night.
