"Basically an un-manned hotel. The cards issued by the check-in machine would not open the door for myself or others. I had to wait until another customer inside the building walked by the glass door and beckon them to come over and open it. "

"What a WONDERFUL find! We initially decided to stay in Mainz instead of Frankfurt because it's much easier to get around and in and out of vs. the larger city of Frankfurt. "Our hosts were wonderful and very helpful. They even offered to pick us up from the train station. The room was clean functional with a good shower. The European style breakfast was excellent. The location was quiet and yet, only 30 seconds walk from the main street with shops and the Christmas markets. Would highly recommend. "

"The stay was great! Very friendly hosts that went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. The only thing I'd say is to be sure you plan ahead if you will rely on public transportation, as bus schedules can be limited on weekends/evenings. Additionally, securing a rideshare can be difficult as well due to the remote location. However, if you speak German, it's rather easy to call the RMV to reserve busses after hours, but you must do so 60 minutes in advance :) Overall a great experience and...

"Was so quiet we could not believe it . And there was a full moon . Good to get away from it all Staff delightful . Slow internet so enjoy the peacefulness. Great breakfast! Had a shower head malfunction but we fixed ourselves. Would have liked a few more signs on road to get there. Not all rooms have kitchen or Cabnets . Need to let owner know if can’t do stairs .( 4 people master in loft with attic stairs )"

"We liked the serenity of the place. The room was big & the bed comfortable. Breakfast was very pleasing. Staff were lovely. The only thing we did not like was the very loud squeaky floorboards when you get up through the night to go to the bathroom."

"The Houseboat Villa Nautica is not for everyone. My wife and I are 70 and enjoy staying in unique accommodations such as the tented camps in Kenya.
