We had a great weekend!
Very impressed with the furnishings, provided cooking and food service supplies. We found EVERYTHING we need and more to host our weekend! All of our guests raved about the venue and their rooms.
Great place to stay especially with a lot of people!
Perfect for entertaining, we used this space to get ready for hair in makeup for our wedding and it was perfect! Great place to entertain, and has lots of space!
We had a big group staying in Maiden Rock and this place was perfect. It was beautiful, not to mention perfectly clean and well-stocked with everything you might need. Deb was very responsive throughout our entire stay. I would highly recommend it!
This property was so much fun and they had everything we didn't know we needed! There was an abundance of room for our group of 11. Thank you so much for a great New Year's Celebration! ...and a great New Year's Dinner at Six Strings just a half a block away!
Spent 2 days with old friends reconnecting. This was the absolute perfect place for us!! We got a kick out of the train going by - it did not bother us at all when we slept. Highly recommend.
Our growing family stayed here for Christmas, as our home is just not big enough! The private spaces, the apartments, the large Dining table, fridge space, great room and bar were amazing. Trains were loud, but turned into background noise. The kids Loved watching them out the windows. We hope it works out that we can stay again!!
Thank you!
This space is amazing. Around every turn there is another nook of couches, there is a magnificent dinning hall, and stunning views! All this coupled with cleanliness and attentive owners makes for a perfect stay. 10/10.
Had the most spectacular time at Maiden Rock Retreat celebrating my 50th birthday. The space was immaculately clean with beautiful views of Lake Pepin. We had 15-20 people in and out over the weekend and there was more than enough room for everyone. The suites provided peaceful privacy for anyone needing a break from the main party. Deb was a gracious host who patiently helped us get the kegerator and music flowing.
Can’t wait to come back!
The Maiden Rock Retreat is truly that. We had 9 people and there were separate beds for everyone. The place is huge and there was plenty of room for our socializing. Great accommodations and the property manager was delightful. We took the time to explore the local towns along the river and even though the building is right next to the RR tracks, we made a game of it when the train went by. Thanks MRR!
Maiden Rock Retreat was a perfect spot for our annual college group golf weekend.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless and easily accomodated our group of 8.
The 2 kitchens were stocked with all of the pots / pans / dishware / glassware needed and can easily accomodate larger groups and events.
The spectacular 2 story bar was a great gathering spot and provided wonderful views of the area bluffs and lake!
Note that the trains that run outside the building can be loud however we did not have an issue with them. 2 bar / restaurants within walking distance is also nice.
Deb is a very responsive host and was able to accomodate our different arrival times. Highly recommended!
Initially we had rented this for 20ish of us coming in for a wedding at a vineyard. Little by little the majority of them cancelled. We were still excited to stay in the redone Creamery. It did not disappoint. The only thing I would suggest was that perhaps a door could be closed between the owners living quarters to the kitchen and the overlook area to the bar room. Felt a little uncomfortable when I was in my jammies making coffee. Otherwise we all loved it and would stay again even with a little lack of privacy. (they have is a closed door, but an entrance into the kitchen remains open to their apartment- same with the bar area)
Coming off of a very hard year (Covid), I wanted to pull my adult children and grandchildren together to reinforce the value and power that "family" provides. There were important matters to share from assorted members ( a recent new house purchase, a work promotion, bonuses) and sharing such great news deserved a great venue. The size of the facility is enormous. When we wanted our group of 15 together, there was always room in the bar area, or the ability to all sit at one table during meals (no more kiddie tables). There were also so many optional seating and gathering areas to allow groups to break off and break away for private conversations or the necessary phone messaging. It was something that I thought might be a once in a lifetime event, but now we are all talking about making this a regular go-to spot for future reunions and gatherings. The pictures do not do the creamery justice. This is an amazing venue, the host (Deb) was so kind and made sure we were well taken care of. This is a hidden gem, don't put off discovering it in your own way.
The listing is accurate for what you get… but it definitely doesn’t do it justice! Deb’s space is way more than what you see. It is a beautiful home with plenty of space for whatever you may need. We used it as a space to get together as 16 people to celebrate the end of summer. With a big group, it’s always hard to find a place for us. However, Maiden Rock comfortably fit us all! The kitchen and dining area allowed us to have family-style meals, the living room/game room area gave us the space to play games, and there was plenty of refrigerator space for all of our food and drinks. I highly recommend picking up after yourselves as much as you can because it is a big space, so you don’t want to save it for your last day/check-out. Deb was amazing with communication from the minute we booked it, to meeting us for a walkthrough, until we checked out. I will say the train does run very often and it is pretty loud. However, we got used to it and no one complained about it. This was a perfect weekend getaway for all of us. I highly recommend you book this place ASAP - you definitely won’t regret it!!!
Unique location with everything you could possibly need
The photos do not do this unique property justice! It is HUGE! We were a group of 15 and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. Not that we needed it, because we gathered mostly around the beautiful bar!
I've never stayed in any property that was so well stocked. Anything you could think of, it had!
It was spotlessly clean and had quirky and cute decor. The poker table and pool table for big hits too! The ice machine was such a luxury! The feedback I received from the group was that all the beds were comfortable. The couches in the living room were very comfortable to sleep on too!
As mentioned in the listing, the train tracks are right by the property. You still hear the trains and they go all day and night. They are loud, but they go by pretty quickly. If you're a light sleeper, you will definitely want to bring ear plugs. I wouldn't let that deter you from staying at this great property though!
Also, the checkout/cleaning instructions were a breeze! Some places, it seems like they expect you to clean everything before you leave. Not here! It was a breeze!
The communication with Deb was great, but we really didn't need to reach out to her during the trip because the place had everything and her little tour when we arrived covered any questions we might have had.
We loved, loved, loved this place and would stay here again!
I booked this beautiful home and event venue for my daughter’s wedding in October. The spacious rooms and apartments easily accommodated the 12 people staying here. I held the “Friday Night Welcome Reception” for 75 people here prior to the wedding at Hidden Meadow and Varn
We were looking for a spacious location so we could all stay together for my nephew’s wedding. We loved the bar area with a pool table and sound system. It was a great weeekend!
Highly recommend booking this property. It was perfect for our rehearsal dinner and a wedding party sleepover in the apartments. Deb was super helpful in booking, communication, tour and setting up for us!
I was in town with my adult children for a wedding. We definitely under utilized the property…Deb (the hostess) has everything you could want! My adult children (30-35 ages) wanted to stay longer! Such a unique place to stay that gives everyone very large gathering space but also spaces and rooms/suites to get away. So perfect…only draw back are the trains that run close to the property while sleeping. I really think it was only the upstairs bedroom that impacted. Still had a great time!
The owner Deb was very responsive to any questions or issues we had, including when we had a toy stuck in the pool table! After we left, she found two toys we had left behind and mailed them to us. The building is huge and is a great choice for getting away and relaxing. The owner provides plenty of paper towels, ziplock bags, foil, etc. The trains are very close and loud but the kids and adults enjoyed “counting the cars.”
