We rented this property in Normandy for a quiet break - just the two of us, and couldn't havebeen more pleased, as we'd booked rather last minute. Normandy has so much to offer and this proved to be the perfect base to roam from, but the town itself is interesting, with its narrow streets and architecture full of history. The house could easily accommodate four very comfortably, and is set in a well kept village location just a few minutes from town and ten minutes from a good sized LeClerc supermarket. The accommodation was spotlessly clean with a well-equipped kitchen with everything you could need. It's a very quiet location and being able to sit outside in the evening was a real treat, as there is a lovely pear and apple orchard, which we were invited to take fruit from. The minimal light pollution allows for really clear views of the stars at night. Les Bagnoles D'Orne is a short drive, but St Malo and Mont St Michel are within easy striking distance and added a very pleasant coastal element to our stay. Falaise, Alencon, Argentan, Le Mans and the Sarthe region provide more than enough variety, especially if you check out where local markets are open. The owners could not have been more helpful, and even repatriated a jacket we'd left there - nothing seems to be too much trouble for them, so thank you very much Laurent, Chantal and Nicole. This was a break to remember.
We would happily recommend this lovely property without hesitation, and will surely be back again, but for a longer stay - a week was great, but a longer stay would provide more opportunities, including the fast and reasonably priced train connection to Paris from a nearby town. A great example of Normandy hospitality.
