"As this is a self check-in it would be most helpful to have a three-ring binder listed with items such as “how to” use the peat stove, turn on the hot water, turn on the heat, identify the wifi code. There is a binder filled with bar and restaurant info but what I recommend is different. I did email the host about the wifi code and he let me know it is posted near the TV. "We loved this home for the moments we saw it online. Then when we met David, he was very helpful with everything in the home, but also had maps out for Ireland. My family did get sick during our visit and David was on it! I followed him i to town to get medicine for my son and husband. "We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Brown Hen. Gwyneth is very quick to respond to communication and is a seasoned host! Linens were crisp and clean, beds were comfy for all of us and lots of space to hang out and settle in. The area around the property is beautiful, close enough to larger cities but out of the way so it feels like a real country experience. We felt very safe here. Would definitely stay again! "

"We stayed for a week and highly recommended this place. Its a lovely set-up with a furnace as well as a small conservatory. The location was perfect for reaching multiple destinations from Cork to Kilareny both being about an hour in either direction. The local town has a rich history and is full of shops, pubs, and grocery stores. The hosts were very pleasant and offered useful suggestions and shared some great stories. Would definitely stay again. "

"This property was perfect! We were a group of 5, so we utilized the apart hotel. It was spacious and clean, allowed us to have communal space and private sleeping. Dining at the restaurant was fantastic. Jason was our server and he was amazing. Food was great, only a short 10 min walk to the Muckross Abbey and a breath taking lake. Hotel views bolstered mountains in the morning. Wonderful staff, we did not have time to utilize the spa but it looked beautiful. "
