This was a perfect place for us! We sat on the Cabana all day which was made quite tolerable by all the fans. The house was cozy and comfortable, very clean, a great size for two. Would definitely stay here again!
Enjoyed the quiet location, convenient to boat dock, nice neighborhood, loved the cabana and the cottage was clean, had everything we needed and super cute!
loved this getaway! Perfect location with all that you need! Love the lounge chairs available for use and hubby loved how close fishing was. Only thing I would note is that there are no toiletries - we were anticipating at least some soap, so good thing my husband thought to bring his own travel shower gel for us to share. If you have a lower suspension car, I’d recommend parking just outside of the gate as well and not try to go into the driveway, as we had quite some issues backing into it and driving out of it, scratching up the bottom of the car. Otherwise, no frills, relaxing lake house!
First off Thank You to our host,
We enjoyed a peaceful, beautiful weekend on the lake. Awesome cozy cabin! Was exactly as advertised. Would love to go back !
We had a very relaxing few days at the lake staying at this efficient cabin perfect for two. We enjoyed fishing, kayaking and the viewed lots of wildlife. We would return again!
Very clean and comfortable both inside and out! Saw Blue Herons and spent lots of time stargazing. My husband enjoyed a round of golf nearby at the Pinnacle Golf Course. All in all, we had a great stay.
Excellent stay. Went to get away and do some business planning. Couldn’t have asked for a better location and the cabin was ideal. Communication with Morgan was great and she was very helpful. I hope to return next year
Rather than have a big party we decided to stay at a lake house, just the two of us. This was a perfect hideaway. The land was beautiful with many pots of flowers. The deck/pavilion was really nice and the house itself was perfect for two people which was fantastic since it rained the entire stay. The only negative was the propane grill did not have propane. It was BYOB and we did not know. But we still managed to have our. Champagne and steak dinner by cooking on the stove top. Will be back for sure
Very private and clean. Only draw back we had was zero to very limited cell service for our total stay. We have T Mobil so I cant say if maybe other carriers would have better coverage there.
The house is located at the end of a cove on the large lake. The house is small but works perfrectly for a couple looking for a getaway. I really enjoyed sitting on the swing watching the water and the stairs provide an easy access into the lake.
We ended up here during a really rainy period and enjoyed some DVDs and games provided when we couldn't be out enjoying the lake.
The pictures do not due this property justice. The property is serene and peaceful and Beautiful. The cabin is quaint, updated, VERY clean and just downright comfortable! We drove about 10 minutes down the road and found the Best coffee shop, art gallery, bookstore and women's Clothing Boutique. This lake property is a short drive from great shopping and food choices in any direction around the lake! Highly recommended!!
My husband and I had a very relaxing weekend fishing in and reading by the beautiful lake. We thoroughly enjoyed the property, especially the large fire pit close to the lake while grilling our dinner every night looking at the stars. Nothing like a big, Texas sky at night underneath beautiful trees. Morgan is extremely good about answering questions very quickly when needed. Our stay and the entire process went very smoothly.
We wanted to get away for our 49th wedding anniversary and our wish was just to relax, read and be quiet. This was just the place. We enjoyed sitting in the back yard and watching the sunrise and listening to the lake as it lapped the shore. The cabin was equipped with everything we could need. And groceries, etc. were just 5-10 minutes away. Morgan was very efficient and quick with answers to our questions. The property was very well managed. We would be happy to return!
My husband and I found this house right on the lake to stay for our 20th anniversary. Neither of us had ever been to Canton before and wanted to stay somewhere close. The house worked out perfect! It is right on the lake, in a very peaceful neighborhood. It was immaculate and well stocked. We will be back again ❤️
ALSO-Morgan, the property manager, was amazing and great at communicating with us. We couldn’t have been more pleased. Thank you, Morgan.
This little cabin is perfectly sized for a 2 person getaway. It sits at the end of a road in a quiet neighborhood. The tree coverage provides a great deal of shade up near the cabin and opens up as you get closer to the water. The owner was building a gazebo up near the entrance at the time, which should be a nice addition once complete, but there's no shortage of views and space to enjoy the lake and property without it.
This house is back in a cove of sorts, so boat traffic was light, limited mostly to the bass boats occasionally coming over to fish the neighboring docks (there was a tournament the weekend we went). As the pictures show, there is no dock for this property. I didn't miss not having one there, as its absence provided open views of the water.
The water is fairly shallow in that part of the lake, probably only a foot to 18 inches just in front of the retaining wall. A bass boat came by that was probably 20 feet out that told me the water was around 3.5 feet out there. Still, with enough weight, you can cast the line out far enough to get to slightly deeper water. We didn't have much luck with the fish - 1 largemouth bass (probably 2 lbs) and a couple of small channel cats, all caught on live worms.
Food options in Malakoff are somewhat limited, as you would expect in a small town, but Gun Barrel City isn’t far and does have more options. Still, we were pleasantly surprised by Ochoa’s Tex-Mex nearby. Ask for the hotter salsa options, though. :)
We were there as an escape from city life and to get some alone time for our anniversary and this property was perfect for that. Many thanks to the owners for sharing it!
