The Space:
The Loft at Luray was completely renovated in late 2023/early 2024. All new appliances and furniture! It was designed with the perfect combination of modern and rustic charm - with high ceilings, recess lighting, tall windows, and elegant décor. Each room has modern recess lighting.
Traveling with another family or need more space? Check out our sister listing right across the street! We also host "Luray Great Escape - Mins to Downtown". Book both for walking proximity with the privacy of your own home. Message us for discounts if booking both.
Our home is on the second floor of a two-story building. The first and second story have high ceilings, which means we have a tall entry staircase. If you have trouble walking up or down stairs, this may not be the house for you. We love pets and are pet friendly, but please be sure to list your pet. There is a $50 pet fee that goes directly to our cleaner for the extra time required to clean.
When you walk into our home, you will see the master bedroom to your left with a luxurious King size bed and matching vanity set, as well as an overhead fan. The headboard and vanity mirror have touch lighting for an elegant ambiance. And the bedroom window overlooks the mountains! The charming main hallway leads you to the living room with comfortable couches, an electric fireplace, an overhead fan, a smart TV, and a bar! We named the bar the McGrath Speakeasy, and it is the perfect place for you and your friends/family to unwind and have a drink after an eventful day of hiking (BYOB)! The living room window overlooks the mountains and there are also some fun family games in the living room. At the end of the hallway, we have our guest bedroom with a bunk-bed. The bunk-bed has a full-size on the bottom bunk and twin size on the top bunk. The guest bedroom also has a desk, which can act as a workstation or makeup table/mirror.
Follow the hallway down to our beautiful and spacious kitchen, with all new stainless steel appliances! The kitchen has an open design with beautiful countertops and has everything you need to make a home-cooked meal. It has a large kitchen table with 6 chairs with a chic chandelier. The back porch has two rocking chairs.
Our home is close to railroad tracks. We feel that this adds to the charm of the home, but if you are concerned about the railroad tracks or the noise, you might look elsewhere. Many guests love to watch the trains, especially children!
Stay in the heart of town with access to all of the outdoor activities the Shenandoah Valley has to offer! Spend the day hiking/floating, followed by a drink at our living room bar (McGrath Speakeasy) and a short walk to our favorite restaurants on Main Street!
Guest Access:
The house has a digital keypad at the front door which will provide you access to the house. The code will be provided upon check-in. You will have full and private access to the home.
The Neighborhood:
Take a quick walk to Main Street (less than one minute!) where you'll find local restaurants, bars and shops! Some delicious local restaurants on Main Street include the Chop House, Watch & Warrant, West Main Market and Gathering Grounds. Valley Cork Wine Bar and Hawksbill Brewing are great places to grab a drink on Main Street. Be sure to check out some great local shops on Main Street such as Nest & Hive (we purchase a lot of our décor from here)! There is also an ice cream shop and movie theater on Main Street. All of these are short walking distance from our home!
We are also a short drive to the Caverns, Shenandoah River and Shenandoah National Park!

Getting Around:
There is street parking that can typically fit two cars in front of the house, but please note that this is a downtown area, so there is limited parking on the street for extra parking.
Other Things to Note:
We are a pet friendly home, but please list your pets! There is a $50 non-refundable pet fee that goes directly to our cleaner for the extra time spent cleaning for the next guest. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. If you do not list your pet and there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this.
Interaction with Guests:
We like to give our guests maximum privacy, so we offer contact-free check-in via a digital door code. Just know that we are only a phone call away if the need arises during your stay! We are also very responsive on the app!
